according to the blog, they have to skill/inject/plex etc. the exact same way we do… if they wanna inject, they have to buy it from their own pockets etc… their SP works the same as ours
Difficult matter but I guess this is the right direction to go forward.
Let’s say, theoretically, a ccp employee want to join my corp. (s)he say “i’m a ccp dev”. How can i verify that?
Falsely claiming to be this is against the rules, so to avoid a number of petitions where ccp employees are accused of impersonating a ccp employee because the recruiter or people in corp don’t believe they are, how about giving them some sort of identifier? so we can know for sure this is indeed a ccp employee.
Will the API show it? That way, we can also report those who truly break the eula/tos, claiming to be ccp staff while really they aren’t.
I wouldn’t mind ccp staff who are open with their status to have a name in colour, or some ccp tag on their portrait, or their avatar wearing unique ccp apparael not available to anyone else, like a ccp cap or ccp jacket or something which they can wear or hide as they please. “Just look at my avatar” and that can end all doubts.
They are allready playing, and I think it is their right to do it officially, don’t need to be hypocrit, we knew they are playing.
If they can really enjoy to play eve fully without restrictions, I say a big YES. Then just take them as usual players.
It doesn’t matter if he works for ccp or not. If he enjoy your corp and is confident with you he will tell you.
great idea!!! i wish them all loads of luck and fiery deaths !!!
I imagine Hilmar would join Goons on first occasion. Just to see what its all about.
Bwuahaha
Outstanding!
Its nice that they dont get punished if someone happens to recognize them somehow so they can play. All i can say is all the guys saying they are recruiting in here are the ones that will try the hardest to make having a CCPer an advantage to themselves rather then just play with them, so i would straight up ignore those corps.
Edit: typos
It’s about damned time you let them play. How do you expect them to understand player issues if they don’t play on live servers?
BUT…safeguards, please, such as –
No CSM can come from a corp in which there’s a dev member.
No corp can participate in competitions if they have a dev member.
Abusing mechanics probably accounts for less than 1% of GM abuse; divulging inside information accounts for much more. So…if you’re lucky enough to find a GM in your corp, it’s not enough to simply recuse them, the entire corp should recuse so there’s absolutely no sense of unfair advantage.
If you can’t manage those simple terms of exclusion, well, what was the point of making them less anonymous in the first place? They could’ve stayed anonymous for all it’s worth.
Do you have a source for these claims?
Why, yes, yes I do. I’ve managed a game or two in my time. Mechanics can be audited in so many ways it’d make your head spin. Any confirmed abuse results in a) player bans, and b) GM firing.

Why, yes, yes I do. I’ve managed a game or two in my time.
So… what does that have anything to do with CCP??

So… what does that have anything to do with CCP??
Every game producer can claim a “why in HECK did you think you could do that?” moment. We humans are such a mixed bag when it comes to integrity. Generally, flaws show themselves more clearly after the fact, n’est-ce pas?

A fix should be coming in the next release we can get it into!
Well that’s great to hear and thank you very much for the reply. Eve space is very beautiful, the Planets, Nebula, Stations, etc.
Even the suns were beautiful too… …until they went supernova.
So… why might a Corp decline an application from a CCP employee?
I wonder whether corps full of botters / RMTers might be a bit wary of this? Could be interesting:
CCPxxx “wait what? You don’t WANT me to join your Corp? Hmm. What have you got to hide?”
Also, will CCP employees be allowed / encouraged to perpetrate scams, ganks, corporate infiltration and theft? In other words, will they be free to participate in ALL forms of EVE gameplay? I hope so, although I can foresee the potential for reeeeee…

Pretty much every major alliance
That’s exactly what I mean, friend. CCPers are in the pocket of major alliances, and with the new policy removing barriers to enter those alliances, even more CCPers will jump on that bandwagon.
I actually do like the idea of knowing in whose pockets the devs are nestled instead of just guessing, though. This is a giant leap forward.
I wonder how many ganking corps and ROAM fleets will target CCP clones?
I know the few CCP meatbags on HyperNet were saleing ticket in high number and value.
market high demand item maybe?
