Discussion Of The Implications Of Niarja's Invasion

Just wait till Covid spike is gone lol. We will see what are invasions worth really. Even 10 systems constantly being invaded will not bring activity back. Quite opposite.

by activity you mean 24 hours of content to move the strip to the left? Do you really consider this activity?
this content is only farmed in highsec, no one needs it anywhere else. All lowsec sys where was invasion has auto win one of side

Stop building straw man arguments. Nullsec PvE also needs to be more difficult, but that is unrelated to the current topic.

This is not true. Maybe if you’d ever met a high skilled PvE player you’d be taken more seriously.

Oh really? Could you explain why high-skill players, people who are already successfully farming any content they want and making tons of ISK doing it, would want PvE to be easier and supplies of minerals/LP/etc to increase and drive down prices? Why would they want to share their wealth with low-skill players like Darlo?

Actually a clever strategy to allow CCP to break HS into separate pieces and be able to “blame” player’s actions, while allowing the largest groups to create toll booth systems which allow for a tighter monopoly on trade overall and their multiboxing gate camps of Talos and Catalysts no longer have to be sacrificed to CONCORD.

Fits CCP dev roadmap, hurts both bots and single/small corps, and rewards the whales in the big NS bloc at TTT (and elsewhere). Iceland must feel that everything is going as planned. The only thing that could go wrong is if enough HS/solo/small corps say enough is enough and unsub. We all know that this gets CCP’s attention because of the no local NS experiment.
Let’s see what the average population is after 1 month; who knows what direction it will go?

So, you guys like Niarja now or not or whatever?

It was more dangerous to travel through Niarja before the Triglavian invasion.

No one is saying they want HS PVE to be easier you dolt. They are saying they don’t want to make 47 jumps to meet a friend or get to Jita or have the game DRASTICALLY changed without anyone knowing what the actual effects will be. It isn’t a huge ask.

“Nobody wants highsec PvE to be easier, they just want highsec PvE to be easier”.

Also, you don’t have to go 47 jumps. You just have to get the courage to leave highsec.

You know they can still go through Niarja, right?

For now, anyway.

So when are CCP going to launch an edencom invasion into the heart of a null bloc and flip it to a constellation into a hisec island?

Won’t happen? Nah, thought not.

I really hope Niarja dropping doesn’t do anything too bad for the already struggling player retention.

And it is a good effect on hauling. Skilled players will find new opportunities for profit, people who are incapable of anything but autopiloting will be stuck losing time and money flying extra jumps through highsec.

Contracts between jita and amarr will just go up in price. Haulers charge per hisec jump.

Anyone who autopiloted through pre-Trig Niarja tended to die anyway. Which you would know if you ever went there. As has been said, hauling is PvP. Sometimes just PvP in commercial terms, sometimes in very kinetic terms if going through Niarja or Uedama.

Sounds like an excellent opportunity for hauler players.

I remember… jump clones.
Now you can meet your friend.

On a side note.
People should have seen this coming.
Definatly many people that care now, didn’t care during the invasion. Somehow someone was going to defend their interest by conquering it to Edencom.

People had a “war” at their door and did nothing about it… some did, just not enough.

Well, obviously.

Assuming everything stays the same, yes. I expect jita will just swell more now and amarr will diminish. Hopefully the other empires can be bottlenecked from each other with a final lim as well and we might see more isolated and self sustaining economies.

At this point I hope it doubles down and all empire highsec becomes surrounded by low and isolated by at least two systems. Its the only balanced way to do this (so you can have jump freighters between empires, but they aren’t forced through a single system)

Like I said, sounds like an excellent opportunity for skilled players to profit. Mostly isolated sub-economies means things like regional price variation, less ability for low-skill players to immediately 0.01 ISK away all of the profits, etc.
