Discussion Of The Implications Of Niarja's Invasion

They still have to uncloak you yes, but I would advise people to do off grid instra undocks.

We took out some werposts on gates, but the result was actually worse.

I’m not sure small stuff (including pods) getting instalocked by stuff that would normally be blapped by sentries or faction police/Concord - once spawned - counts as ā€œall the important waysā€.

That being said - it’s early days. There’s no point forming dramatic opinions about these things until the dust settles and things shake out a bit. It could end up being ā€œa bad thingā€, it might not be. It’s a new experience at least.

In terms of autopilot still considering it high sec - it comes up as a red triangle for me, and you get a warning (unless suppressed) about the fact there is no protection inside. That seems like enough to me, unless you’re a bit slow.

You can clean whole system of the werposts. They come again after some time. We did it in Inaya.
Cant flip system back from minor trig victory to edencom. Everything works in one direction only. To make the high sec more PITA. BLEH!

There was one werpost on each gate. What actually happened is that the response fleet sat on the gates until the next DT and then within a couple of days one gate ended up with three werposts. I was like, hmmm, not doing that again…

We are constantly seeing posts about how many more high sec people there are as compared to null. So you should have easily formed many more fleets than a single group in null (one that is at the same time being attacked by every other group in null).
Your numbers should have been so high that our fleets would be unable to function due to heavy TiDi.

What an odd assumption to make.

How many systems in hisec? What is the average number of people in each system in hisec. What is the average corp size in hisec, what is the average alliance size in hisec. It was still early days from the war dec changes when this started to happen and corps and alliances are still only just growing bigger and developing coalitions, but it takes time It is like suggesting that all the cats on the planet will get together to kill a wolf pack in Alaska.

The heavy lifting on invasions by players against Edencom is mainly done by lowsec PvP players, and don’t forget that they beat the Goons in the early stages of the first world war bee.

It is not about the numbers. The fleet composed of people who are first time in a fleet and fly suboptimal ships its all really stressing for FC. Majority of those people doesnt even know whats going on in system till they lose ship to trigs or edencom.

Niarja falling to Triangles is an exciting experiment. I acknowledge CCP’s brave decision to let it happen and give the outcome into players hands.
Since my very early days in EVE I could not understand why a more than 70 jumps wide EVE universum has the two major trade hubs not more than 9 jumps away from each other.
It’s still 9 jumps, nothing changed in this respect. However, there is a new chance to develop a second center of trade and welfare - it’s a bit like 1496 landing in the New World.
It is in players hands to develop Amarr into a Metropolis or to run it down to rural village status.
What I read in this enormous thread is what is in players heads.
Looking forward if either fear or zest for action will materialise.

No, I’m not going to start shooting rats in hisec, something I haven’t done in over ten years and which is about the most boring, unrewarding and useless activity in this game I can imagine. Not everyone who uses hisec and has an interest in its trade routes, lives there, let alone rats there.

Fighting for hisec and shooting npc’s in hisec are two different things. No matter what happens, I’ll certainly never go back to ratting in hisec, and CCP shouldn’t force anyone to do that. In fact nobody should ever be forced to do pve to influence game-altering developments. Forcing people to do pvp is fine, but not pve.

Thats what I am planning to do, I have few games to finish. I may log in from time to time tho, to tell people they should stop running around how CCP tells them.

It is fair, because it’s equally unfair for everyone.

This is no ā€˜challenge’,this is a try of ccp to kill all pve…

This game will become a ftp standard game with golden ammo and ā€˜special ships’ in the shop where you will buy all the good stuff for real money…sp for real money only was a test balloon and the beginning…

Thx to the korean overlords…

Look at black desert online and you will see the future of eve…

But ā€˜time changes things’ hm?

People you all haven’t really realized how much…

The transition to a F2P micro-transaction based game happened way before the Pearl Abyss acquisition.

But yes, let’s keep this narrative going cause ā€œAsians bad m’kayā€, instead of actually properly assigning blame to CCP themselves.

Sry for shooting you out of the saddle dear friend but do you REALLY think the negotiations for PA to take over CCP just started 5 minutes before it was published…?

I BET a condition for the takeover from PA was to ā€˜prepare the customers to what they plan for the game’…this is called thinking ahead…a not well known skill these days i know…

Dude this is called ā€˜buisness’ and not ā€˜left wing tirade club’…

What has buisness to do with your fear for asians?

You have very little understanding of business, if you think PA threw resources into controlling CCP before the acquisition. CCP have been sowing the seeds for micro-transactions since the skill trading changes. It’s a long time to spend capital on a company you don’t even own.

I’m just pointing out your clear racism, since CCP have been doing this to themselves, yet you blame it on the Koreans, cause ā€œasians are badā€.

Well first of all ā€˜asians are bad’ came from you not me…

Secondly who says something about ā€˜resources’?
All i said is that PA made conditions for the takeover…which is a totally normal buisness agreement.

Learn to read dude…

But as we all can see you just see what you already have hammered into yourself as an opinion…so i am the bad guy here for you regardless what i say…

Good…stupid but good…conviniend for you…

Darlo, stop it please.

Why so bothered, I mean I have put over eleven years in this game, I have tried various parts of the game and I still find enjoyment with it, I have played quite a few games and this one keeps my attention more than most.

If you keep screaming Koreans bad and PA are destroying this game then you ruin it for yourself, I don’t see anything that knocks my socks off at all, gold ammo will, if that happens I am out period.

In fact I think CCP deliberately making it harder to farm and create ISK and assets is needed because so many players including myself are sitting back on large wads of ISK and assets so it means I don’t bother doing a lot of content. This is not good. In fact what CCP has been doing is making an effort on that part and it is not just hisec. Don’t forget that the spawn rate for nullsec went down too and the roids reduced massively.

You will call this making people buy plex for ISK, and that will happen, but the massive amount of ISK and assets in the game do have a paralysing affect and need to be worked out of the system.

CCP are doing a very difficult job, so think about it a bit and stop being so damn strident. You come over as bad as some of the most rabid HTFU players.

This is not a personal attack by the way, but an attempt to make you see reason. This is the second time today that I have jumped in and tried to explain to someone not to act like this. Step back, chill out.

PS Don’t react to this:

It is dare I say it, an idiotic statement designed to make you over react.

It did come from you.

The sentiment of that sentence is that, because of the Korean owners, the game is going in the direction of F2P micro-transactions. If it had nothing to do with ethnicity, then why mention Korean here? Why not just write ā€œThx to Pearl Abyssā€?

I can tolerate your semi-trolling, but I’m going to draw the line at racism.

So you think the racism is all fine and dandy?
