this is a bad joke =/
CCP why not turn every single system to null sec then?
CCP actively trying their best to mess up this game with this recent changes this year…
first nerf market
then nerf resist modules
then remove abyss 1v1s and replace it with something not cool instead of adding it…
then nerf high sec to null secs
The highest voted comments are all criticising the clueless implementation of these invasions by CCP. I genuinely think niarja falling will hurt the games already struggling player retention.
GG CCP, I was just thinking of resubbing the rest of my mains but guess I will just let this one sub out the rest of her omega and I will see you again if you fix this.
Shake up the game a bit and create a new, dynamic situation that would change things up and force the player base to adapt in creative ways? Nah, keep everything the same, just like it has been for 17 years. The farming must not be interrupted, after all.
Sneer at the “bears” as much as you like. Problem is, if too many quit, you will not have a game to play yourself. It is not a question of “shaking things up” to create “new, dynamic situations”, but rather dropping a nuke on established and legitimate ways of enjoying the game. A bit of change, fine. But transforming the security status of whole chunks of high sec? CCP cannot know where these changes will lead in terms of player retention - it is one hell of a gamble for them, and for the game. I am not saying Eve is dying, let alone dead. But this is a tad akin to CCP tombstoning off a cliff - the buzz may appeal to some, but pray there are no rocks down there.
To be honest I’m all for a shake up, i think high sec should be more of a sequence of islands than a solid block, but saying anyone who disagrees with the way it’s being done is a bear who only wants to farm is stupid, and completely palming off the issue at hand here which is player retention.
High sec is accessible, and a lot of experienced players may migrate there at least with alts when real life gets busy, allowing them to continue to play without the pressure of low, null, or J right on you. It’s also where new players start, and I think niarja of all places is a huge change up for players just getting on their feet or returning to the game. For a lot of people it’s off putting.
Niarja seems to just be CCP pandering to a vocal group, with no regards to the implications. If there are fewer players subscribing you won’t have a game left to play in the years to come.
Slamming an invasion right in the heart of one of the major industrial and economic arteries of the game is just plain retarded. If its “emergent gameplay” you want, then why not have Trig systems gradually change the surface of high sec? Oh yeah, because eve is not the sandbox it or you people claim it to be, invasions are not emergent gameplay but a forced instance, and at this point I’m certain CCP has already decided the fate of the system regardless of player actions there.
Well this is the good thing I see from this, Rens now stands to become the central trade hub as high sec rerouting will go via that direction, I also expect high sec organizations have the opportunity to carve out more efficient and profitable industrial operations across a couple of systems too.
The concern is the precedent. If it works and we keep the player count, yay. If it doesn’t work, my bet is on CCP doubling down and just nuking a system between jita and Rens, or just forcing Trig gameplay on everyone untill doing anything in high sec is not worth the risk, in which case I expect we won’t have a game to play, but hey, it’s the loud people moaning about carebears farming who this game is for, right?
the problem is that niarja links the center of the spirit world of new eden and arguably the most important system in the game amarr/amarr with the weabo capitalist paradise jita 44
and rens and dodix suck balls
but at the end its just bear cry
I didn’t say anything about disagreement. I just said it’s funny how people are panicking because their PvE grind is about to be interrupted.
While I think this would also be hilarious, I don’t think this is quite the case. The effects of this event are likely going to condense trade into a single choke point, when in the past there were 3 major ones and 1 minor one. Amarr and Minmatar space will turn into the wastelands, and 99% of hauler traffic will go through Uedama. That’s actually a massive boon for the gankbears.
There also seems to be a lot of you that don’t realise there are ways between empires involving only a single low sec jump, and it is really easy to get freighters over a single lesser travelled low sec jump.
Aside from that, you’ll get more people bulding and trading in the area rather than suckling the jita teet.
For the record, I have never complained about ganking, and my issue with war declarations was the massive inbalance - far from encouraging me to engage in PvP, my only option was not to play until the war was over, as I had no chance of a fair fight. At least ganking can be avoided or survived with some skill or care, and if I get ganked whilst mining, it is probably my fault.
