Discussion Of The Implications Of Niarja's Invasion

CCP built this game on a long term goal. On making a great game. They mostly failed at it, but they were sincere in their desire.

PA cares about having something impressive to show at the next quarterly investor meeting. They’ll have no problem laying off half the employees to do it. Or removing null and low sec. This isn’t a game for them. It’s an investment. It doesn’t matter if every single current player quits as far as they’re concerned.

Weren’t the previous owners even worse? I thought they were a bunch of venture capitalists that weren’t even in the game industry.

I and at least 6 people I know have pledged to quit if niarja goes final liminality. In total its around 30 accounts unsubbed (I know high profile gankers, and have 9 accounts personally) so $450, and thats just me and my friends. Due to the botting problem in dodix and rens routes, we can’t gank there despite reporting all the bots. Also, there is 1 non bot that plays 20 hours a day (you know who it is) that AGs too. Either nerf AG, ban the bots, or give back Niarja.

You should have been around in 2012 when the game went from apx 50k on fri/sat nite to 20k. You have no idea what CCP is willing to do. At this point, neither do I!

Edit; Sry Xeux, in before the buzzer…

That is pathetic.

I remember when at least a thousand people ragequit and very publicly went to World of Tanks.

They all came back, tail between their legs.
Just like the half dozen of you will.

I can’t tell if aiva is serious, or being ironic.

1 person I know has already RMT’d around half of their assets. They are serious.

People act like CCP had something to do with this, they set the rules to the invasion and Niarja was on the list, its the players who are deciding to turn it Triglavian.

People will adapt, a corp/alliance willing to get organized will probably be able to work around this using Jump freighters, there’s great profit in overcoming little changes like this, since prices in the Amarr Regions will no doubt rise as a result of this. I hope there will be more of this, shake things up a bit, the fact that the trade hubs haven’t really changed in more than a decade is a sign of game stagnation IMHO.

@aiva_ganki You should ha started a yr long plan to get out like I did as soon as I saw “The Ago of Chaos”.

that’s like calling an election in North Korea ‘democratic’. When it goes 1stL, nullblocks will camp gates 24/7 so pro EDENCOM cant fight.

I wouldn’t mind that if there was still a .5 chokepoint. The .5 chokepoint was what was balancing freighters.

The community has a large section of trolls and those trolls have risen in great numbers to declare that Niarja will be Triglavian.

I wouldn’t mind, but nullsec? seriously? If it was just “get positive standing or die”, that would be ok. Making it nullsec is just going to make it a dead system, like the others. Hell, NS would be fine if it only lasted for a certian amount of time or could still be reversed.

Yeah. The Frogs and other major couriers have probably had plans in place for this eventuality since this invasion was originally announced.

This gave me a stupid idea, but I’ll say it anyway. How about new missions based on actual player combat vids? :beers:

Blizzard did something like that with D3. It seems to have gone over pretty well.
