[Discussion] PLEX and Omega price changes feedback thread

I just let my last char go. I let my other crabbing alts go a few months ago. my last Omega ends tomorrow. I wont be back unless they roll back EVRY last dumb thing they have done in the last 5 years or so. Darn shame EVE was one of a kind

Multiboxers be like travellers who wear every layer of clothing on a plane instead of packing it into the luggage like a normal person then complain when they’re pulled aside for looking like the Stay Puft Marshmallow Man in the middle of Summer

The multiboxer purge is real

Complains about the price rise
 plays on this

And refuses to subscribe for 24 months for discount.

Not sure why multiboxers expect sympathy.

And than
a: they increse it to get nearly as expensive than eve is for the last 20 years.

btw didnt they all lose the russians? i mean ffs even Wargameing did leave russia
their subscriptions are still the same after loseing more than half of their player xP

yeah yeah pears and apple bs

oh white knight shift change? one leaves one comes
so i guess both sides are equal again

It’s been interesting to read the hate toward folks that have decided their best play involves running more than one Omega account. I mean, what do people think the number of active accounts would be if folks were not able to run multiple accounts at a time.

Currently, I’m running on the fumes of two Omega accounts and one Alpha. When I came back to the game most recently, I had two old accounts that were now Alpha. They had previously been subs (it’s been a wee while). Then recently, I went ahead and created a new Alpha account using a buddy code from a streamer I follow on Twitch.

I did not like being Omega locked on skills, equipment, ships, lower login rewards, etc. I did not find running L3s with an individual account to be fun either. I wanted to run both accounts in L4s like I did in the old days, so I went ahead and subscribed with two of the Alpha accounts to make them Omega.

And yeah, I was actually having fun in the game again just running two of my toons in L4s. Running a Battleship and a Battlecruiser. Orbiting a MTU with the Battleship as it blew stuff up and salvaged tractored wrecks while the Battlecruiser orbited the Battleship. The Battleship sniping heavier targets with Cruise Missiles and the Battlecruiser fragging smaller targets in range with HAMs. It was really just about how awesome it was to see two spaceships blowing stuff up on the screen, and I found it highly entertaining even though I know other players would be bored to death.

But as I said, I also created a new Alpha account. And the oddest thing happened, I found that I was actually having more fun running L2s in a Cruiser than I was running the Battleship/Battlecruiser combo in L4s. I do not know with that toon whether I even want to graduate to L3s in a Battlecruiser (much less a Battleship) or not. It’s just fun flying that Cruiser in the L2s.

However, the wanting to watch spaceships junkie in me started to think about maybe it would be cool not only to graduate to a Battlecruiser, but also to take that third account to Omega so that I could watch a Battleship and two Battlecruisers running L4s. And I was taking a look at my budget to pay for three Omega accounts instead of just two.

Then the announcement about the price increases. $20 for one, $40 for two, and then $60 for three. And, well, I found myself cancelling the autosub on my two Omega and not going Omega with the third. I found myself in a funny position of both not being able to afford what I wanted to do while also not finding the actual value to match the new price point. It wasn’t the either or that’s been commonly posted about in this thread.

I cannot afford $60 a month for three accounts. There are other things that I would rather have in my entertainment budget as far as that goes. It’s feasible, but then it gets into the value. I find value in being able to run two Omega accounts at $30. I was even looking at $45 to run three Omega accounts. I really like watching my spaceships, they’re pretty awesome looking, just blowing crap up in space. However, I do not find the value matches at $40 for two Omega accounts. What I do in the game, what I get out of the game, just isn’t worth it for two Omega accounts much less for three. Then it gets into it simply not being worth it to me to run a single Omega account at $20. Hell, it’s weird, one Omega account at $15 is not really worth it to me with how I want to play, while the $30 for two was and $45 for very well might have been.

So yeah, the combination of being priced out and not finding the value is going to put me back in the position of just running three Alpha accounts. I mean, I have thought about running one account and joining a corp to play with other people, but I like to play a certain way that isn’t going to fit in with how a corp wants to play. They will do things I am not the least bit interested in doing. So yeah, that’s most likely a no on running a single Omega at $20. The value just wouldn’t be there as I said.

Then I had the trippy realization that I’m basically playing EVE as a single player that’s playing a RTS. Controlling multiple units on a map while blowing stuff up. It got me thinking about just going back to Stellaris. Sure, it’s not the same in the least, but the thought took place all the same. Instead of spending that money to sub Omega with EVE, I could catch up on missing DLCs for Stellaris and just play that. But it’s not EVE. So I don’t know. I just don’t know.

Different people play the game differently, and I think it’s important to recognize that. I’m not going to sit here and down folks that mine or PVP. That’s how they enjoy the game. Whether they fly solo, in a corp, or they run multiple accounts, they are all EVE players. They all both enjoy the content of the game and contribute to the content of the game.

There is no denying that these price changes are going to affect that. Not everybody is going to be interested in whatever awesome content CCP plans to announce at Fanfest. Not everybody plays the same way. However, these price changes are going to affect everybody - some more than others for various reasons. As has been mentioned, mind you, the cold reality is if one cannot afford it or if one does not find value in it, then the only way forward is to cancel Omega if they were paying for it instead of trying to PLEX it. CCP has said tough luck.

This doesn’t mean that folks out there cannot vent a bit while they are processing the changes taking place. Mocking them doesn’t add anything to the discussion.

Just saying

Course, I’m not rage quitting or anything myself. Lol, I came so close once to doing that. I all but did that. I reprocessed everything - equipment and ships - sold all the mins to crappy buy orders, and I sent the ISKies to a FC that ran some cool FW fleets as a thank you. I even dropped my main in the vat, back when the time to complete it was longer. I actually did kill off the alts on both accounts. At the end, I just cancelled the nom nom nom, and did not play for a decade.

I don’t feel that anger, much less rage, with the announced changes to pricing. Just kind of sad and disappointed. However, I have far larger problems in my life and accepting that I won’t be able to play EVE the way I want to play EVE is something pretty easy to accept by comparison.

I fully believe that posting in this thread is a waste of time. CCP is not interested in the feedback in the least. Oh, they may talk about trying to implement a reduced cost for folks running multiple accounts, but I am not going to hold my breath. They are fixed on this base price increase for both Omega and PLEX, and that is that. Simple as that. This thread is just about folks sharing their thoughts and emotions on the changes. A form of release. It’s kind of healthy when you think about it.

Just saying again

Its day 3 and i’m still banned from the CCP discord because i asked the question, “Why do the devs feel likethey should still be gainfully employed right now? Especially considering in the eyes of the player base they have basically been stealing paychecks for 2 years with ZERO ■■■■■■■ new content!!”

I can see why they banned you on Discord.

Also, you willingly handed over your cash

I’ve recieved better customer support from a mcdonalds drive through then the dev team around here, so tell me why do they deserve to continue to be gainfully employed?

Cancel culture is here. Several of my posts were reported by miners because I am in favor of the price hikes
in fact I think they should be higher.

well, 33% price increse and 75% subscriptions decrese is fine for me.
in the end its cheaper that way for us and ccp will be happy too with that i guess
didnt think of that, 40$ less per month, i get a new Coffeemachine for that! \o/

thanks ccp <3

I’m just glad that CCP will finally have a little bit of money, and maybe they can start improving the game instead of trying to limp along on a shoestring budget. It is truly sad to see that the peasant rabble cannot afford to maintain their desired standard of living, but let them mine for their keep. I have spoken.

Eve, honey sorry but you aren’t THAT beautiful to be able to have such demands. You constantly require my time and money but don’t bring anything new to the table in return. It’s been a fun ride, but you’re old! When I ask you to make ANY changes, you keep saying that I should love you the way you are because it’s impossible for you to change. Yet you expect me to constantly change, and harden the F up, when I complain.

There have been times where we have seen other people but I kept coming back to you. But this was the last straw. I’m leaving you, forever! Farewell.
