[Discussion] PLEX and Omega price changes feedback thread

well, why not download other games and pay for battle pass? all works

Some numbers for Omega subscriptions (Assuming Euros to dollars is again 1:1)

(As the old price had no 2-month pack or 24-month pack, I’ve doubled the 1-month and 12-month packs for comparison)

Observations:

  • price increase is biggest for 1 month Omega at 34%
  • bulk discount has been increased for larger packages
  • new 24 month package is only a 3% increased price

So glad I unsubbed everything last month that had 6 months or less recuriing on them, and told you guys i would not continue paying RL cash if you insisted on selling in game items for cash…or in this case going down this road of self-destruction.

Im retired in RL, i have all the time in the world…if you can live off whales and dare I say RMT, then so can i (buying PLEX with ISK is kinda of RMT)

depending on the (western) country the inflation is somewhere between 5 and 10%. So I would understand a price rise of let’s say huge 12% to get ahead of this and have years of silence and no need to increase further.

You would have increased the price by $1. No one would have taken the time to reconsider and you would have recovered almost 100% of the increase. With a 30% increase, players will reconsider the cost and they will continue to play by lowering their cost by eliminating an account. For me, I will remove one or all of my MCTs, the game will remain interesting but I will decrease my cost by eliminating a not mandatory paid option. On the 30% increase, you may get back 60% of 30% when players re-evaluate the total cost to play EVE and set up a strategy to reduce their total cost. At the end, the paywall is getting bigger for new players and it’s not going to make it any easier for new players to join. This is a concern for the future of the game.

In my ideal world, they’d increase the price to $30 and use the extra money to start pushing out new content at the pace they were 13 years ago.

This USD:EURO conversion with 1:1 really upsets me.

EVE Online is a free MMORPG sci-fi strategy game where you can embark on your own unique space adventure.

Just saw your comments. Thanks for being here. I hope that this will lead to more content and more dev time, but it is, as you say, a hard pill to swallow. I’m not sure how much the CSM get to be involved in this side od CCP desision making, but there shiuld be a huge outcry for new, real, permanent content in the near future.

Nothing about eve warrants monthly subscription costs to increase higher than market norm. You’re making a huge mistake. Look around and see the world and how many people are going through financial hard patches right now, and ask yourself if they’re going to spend $20 here, or $15 somewhere else.
Justify the cost increase so I can understand.

Same, it surprised me to see I’m paying the same amount of Euros others are paying in dollars, which means I’m paying about 8% more. Oh well.

I will just wait to see CCP get this back when they realize that the active population is cut off by half due to this stupid change.

I can handle the price increase, but hire new devs and give us something new already.

dollar dollar dollar. What about GBP? I have no idea how this affects me if at all?

I’m gna guess that GBP is unaffected?

Bad communications as usual.

I unsubbed two of my accounts, considering taking a break on my main or just spending isk for plex just to watch the game finally die.

Considering almost every other MMO many of which have been around, nearly, as, or even longer than eve, have kept their subs at 15 for YEARS, shows nothing but you and your companies sheer greed.
