[Discussion] PLEX and Omega price changes feedback thread

The dev blog is not a lie. It’s more like “in addition to…”. There are many factors happening right now around the world. We have rising costs. We have supply chain shortages. We have an MMO with a 20 year old core game engine getting competition from newer offerings. Sometimes you have to spend money to make even more money.

why would I pay for a year in advance when it doesn’t look like this game will last the summer? lol You probably get scammed a lot.
I’ll double whatever isk you send me since I’m quitting the game

than they should not piss of 1/3 of the game and than ask more money in return for it

I’ve heard the expression “EVE is dying” long before I joined. It’s not uncommon to hear players moan that when they become disenfranchised with their MMO.

Rather than double what I send you, hand me your stuff. I got things to do for the next year and beyond.

Primary. Not sole.

Yeah but they aren’t going to change the 20 year old game code. So that’s my issue they can’t update the code we play on. They don’t do anything “NEW” and they claim they have have to up the costs. For the past 2 years they have been messing with everyone’s game and now they want to also go into your pocket and demand more money for f*cking me up! Who’s running CCP now the Mafia!! That’s their how they run things at the docks.

dude 20 bucks tell me what game out there charges that and delivers absolutly no contend for the last 2 years…THEY JUST DIED!

It’s not going to be $20 a month if you buy ahead. Buy a year, pay $12.49 USD, save around $7 or $8. Be smart with your money.

lets all watch fanfest so we can watch fozzi and rattatti foam at the mouth and flop on the floor about legacy code inhibiting them from doing a good job during the Q&A like they always do every year

Disingenuous. If that’s the primary reason, then why wasn’t that the reason listed first in the devblog—or at all?

To be fair, Fozzie’s been one of the folks who’ve seemed sane, lately. He was definitely one of the loudest ‘god no, no NFTs, no crypto’ voices.

Dude’s paying for 12 accounts. Yes, buying annually would save him a bunch of money. OTOH, it would also mean having to hand over $1800 in one lump sum. It’s a lot easier for many people to budget $180/mo than to have that much spare cash laying around just waiting for the yearly to tick over.

Fine. If your household budget is that strapped, City Of Heroes: Homecoming charges nothing and runs on the kindness of donations. Being a superhero/supervillain is fun too.

I’m not taking a swipe at the guy and I don’t know how old his sons are but most households usually plan ahead beyond a month. Even a simple low-paid cog in a wheel like me has their budget in mind beyond that.

Speaking of low pay, I have to go to work now. This is my last comment on the topic.

Exactly, i usually either take the MCT deals for 3 months or sometimes for the main account sub them (4 of them for 6 months) the rest is done monthly, i earn quite well my life but i am not an idiot (well i try hard not to be a huge one at least lol) to pay all of them for a year…so most of them is montly pay…
well not anymore that a certainty.

Doesn’t mean he doesn’t do the same kickin chicken dance they all do about legacy code every year.

Like dude, if the legacy code prohibits you so much, rewrite it. It’s literally their job. they literally get paid to do just that. lmfao

yep bro, if they would like release good content and relevant content not ■■■■ like that dr who crapp a while back…really release something huge that would feed us for a while i would then pay for sure…
but the content is just not there, and the legacy code…THAT IS NOT AN EXCUSE! they are PAYED to do it…so why are we paying if they are not delivering!

To be fair, Arrendis, the context of that quote is not why the need to increase prices, it is why do it now:

And the reason why is explained in the news item, this is to cover cost of business. Everything is more expensive, especially in the past few months. We have not increased prices.

But like this, this is… it’s better to do this now than to do it later.

The primary reason for when I say like doing it now, I mean in the span of like six months to 12 months or even two years. The primary reason is because we lost Russia, that that is the primary reason.

How I read that is inflation was biting their asses and the price rise was coming, but the situation of Russia made that a little more pressing than it had been.
