[Discussion] PLEX and Omega price changes feedback thread

After reading your post carefully, i can point some things that do not as up with your whole mentality .It seams to me that you do not like the changes that was implemented on the game the last few years , yet you are still playing the game .About he picture you are sending out just check eve offline there are 25k people online we seen some drop but with the changes of rattati admin it should be way lower .You remind me the meme in reddit https://i.redd.it/5724nn3h6qv81.jpg .So ccp thank you for your support…

What about it being split in 3 tiers:
Alpha - current
1x training speed

Delta - access to all subcaps at a discounted price
1.5x training speed
can use up to lvl 4 implant’s but not 5’s.

Omega - access to all ships including capitals at the $20 price
2x training speed
can use everything.

For people with alt’s I’m sure not all of their accounts will need cap access maybe one is for scouting and Cyno’ing. Having 1 more tier will stop the people who are unsubbing some of their accounts from unsubbing.

In nemrod’s example above maybe he only needs 1 of the 3 in a cap and the other 2 at delta if delta is at 12 then that would be 52 which is above his limit but he might say, 2 over is not to bad and keep at it.

Consider gifting your stuff to Mike’s Magic School Bus giveaway to help newbies who might want to play the game. Just an idea.

nope. not supporting another of these ventures either. already see the train wrecks from such tiered models being tried, no wish to relive those experiences

as for ā€œok lookie, we still have X# of accounts logged inā€ from the fanboi’s- its a base 30 sub model, so without unedited access to the hard numbers of account unsubs since the announcement - and also not counting those that drank the ā€˜last hoorrah’ kool-aid with the left hand take/right hand give ā€œspecialsā€ - just keep watching eve-offline over the next weeks and months and see how that activity starts tapering off (which still won’t show the real numbers of omega vs alpha activity)

Either way, just seeing more fanboi troll repetition here than anything constructive from CCP, so as they had my vote as it counts on the day of their announcement… we’ll see what the future brings. not holding my breath

Well, elder scrolls online have extended their weekend sale till tomorrow and set the full set of expansions pack at £14.18

This is an absolute gift to other MMO marketing departments.

Respected CCP Executives,

Beginning 17 May, there will be significant subscription changes which depending upon the severity and duration may impact your revenue statements. As shareholder inquiry activity is anticipated to be intense please prepare your explanations in advance.

You do know many people are shifting assets and selling, right? We have time before subs run out.
I’m shifting that money from Eve, to the stock market. great time to buy with my discretionary income versus overpaying (my opinion) for an increasingly low value hobby. But No reason to have billions in mats/assets I wont need for the couple accounts I am keeping

Why shift assets and sell when they claim to be quitting?

Is this like an ā€œI’m quitting eve, double your isk kind of play?ā€

Because many are downsizing, not quitting.
I’m going from 10, to 2-3. No more mining/indy. The commodities are going to suffer (depending on over all player/toon drop ratios).
I can now use that isk to buy doctrine ships and just log in for a fleet ping, if I decide to.

edit: phrasing

call it what you will. It is revenue loss for a gaming company that capitalizes heavily on multiple accounts.
My job is stressful. Mining with 10 accounts allowed me to just shut off my brain, watch local and lose myself in the process. It was super cathartic

CCP’s proposed new content.

Unless CCP have the content updates ready to go without testing before deploying into production, Fanfest announcements are going to be a promise of future content (which they usually are), not updates now.

So no matter what the ā€˜largest content updates ever’ announcements are at Fanfest, people will be paying the higher price before most of it is ever released. Whether they are willing to do that for the current game on the possibility of future improvement, we’ll see, though CCP doesn’t have a great track record of delivering on promises.

The programming for billing, account management, and actual in game operation would be a freight car load of wrenches thrown into the mix.

Has anyone asked CCP if they will drop the price again should they recover their lost Russian acct’s? :face_with_raised_eyebrow:

Yes. The answer was ā€˜I don’t know’… which means no.

I have subbed this game since 17 Years, there was a price increase over time.
Because in the late game you need more than one account. Just to play the game.
In large Alliances 3+ accounts is not unusual.
I“ll bet you loose alot long time players, who sometimes log in just for a fleet fight.
They get the trigger to go away.

Price hike? Sure… Great idea… Let’s talk about it…

On the related note, have you ever considered to actually bring ships skins in line with other games in terms of pricing?

Right now you want 150-240 euros per year (depending on how you charge it), I mean, that is super steep price in terms of what we are getting and in terms what other games can offer for far lower price.

But looking at ship cosmetics is even more laughable…

Lets look at battleships, skins go from 110 for cheapest ones, 250 for not a small number of them, up to 390 for few. That is 5 euros / 12.5 euros / 20 euros. For a skin? Are you mental?

Battlecruisers are 55 / 110 / 250, again 3 euros (ok price) / 5.5 euros / 12.5 euros.

Not even going to mention super caps… Even elite dangerous has 3 euro pack that can get you any skin it the game

Have you looked at pricing of other games on the market and pricing of cosmetics there or are you just still living in your own world?

I mean, I have stockpiles of plex from my university times and incursions, so I can plex my accounts still for about 2 years, but after that runs out, sorry, but 150-200 euros yearly sub, I don’t even pay streaming services that much and my whole family spends way more hours there than I do in EVE.

Even the current price of 15 euros for a game which gets very very limited specific target group content at this rate is to much asking. Haven’t actively played for few months and came back for few days to see how it is, nothing really changed. The whole new region is great, but also not suitable for a large number of casual players, most of other changes are either balancing passes or some slight mechanic changes.

The gameplay is pretty much same as it was from 2015 with adition of few SoE, Triglavian and Edencon ships. everything else is pretty much whack-a-mole with banhammer to shake up meta. Captains quarters were abandoned, for the shooter you had a genius idea of makking it console only and what else did you add as actual diferent gameplay since then??? Stations instead of POSes? Admirable…

If you don’t want to pay (more), there are other options to retain Omega that you clearly already know about.
