For those saying ābut inflation!āā¦ look at the prices of other MMOās. EVE is the only MMO that will move above what other MMOās are at. This beautifully compares current prices of other games subscriptions with what EVEās will be. Keep defending a shitty move, go onā¦

Iām a new player and Iām already bored with PVE. Why in the hell would I pay more for a game that is not even enjoyable. Iāve been told I have to play for at least a few months to a year to start having fun. Iām not paying $20 a month for a year just to see if I like the game enough to keep playing it. Iād love to unsub but it looks like youāve crashed your own servers with so many people unsubbing. Congratulations you just killed your game.

LOL, The original EQ nice one and there are many moreā¦ I loved that game when it came out and just like EQ, Eve will die and I think they have successfully killed it this time. Free hurt it badly, I donāt think it will survive this lose of population.
While youāre example is good (and thanks for putting it together), that only puts EVE at $30 USD above 2 others (and only $10 above 1 other).
In the big picture, that isnāt a lot.

BDO and EVE run the same Sub models just that you have way more freedom in BDO as free user
But unlike EVE, BDO is filled with content and doesnāt raise the price like that

Servers are bogged down with everyone unsubbing.
I can only imagine the outcry for anyone whoās billing renews today but they couldnāt unsub due to server issues.
The other week the price to convert 1000 isk to plex was 2.9b today as per this 2022-04-22 Omega change the same plex would now cost 3.5b
It had only been a few hours since this announcement of the 17th May changes.

Iāve been playing since 2007 had a bit of a break an came back recently.
This game has never been cheap , now it will become outrageous expensive for what it gives back.
You knew you were gonna have backlash , thatās why you left this out of Fanfest (that wouldāve been fun to watch liveā¦) , but you didnāt expect THIS AMOUNT.
You are on the very thin line that can break this game forever , if you loose enough people the ingame economy crashes followed by every player not being able to afford anything, when that happens there is no comming back from that.
Be really sure you want to do this and the consequenses, you might just have a game for 1 year instead of 10ā¦

Well, they wanted ā20 yearsāā¦ I couldāve cited a bunch of others, as Guy did, but they havenāt been around for 20 years so I thought Iād avoid the technicality.
for 3 characters. By comparison, at $99.99 /yr (or $50 below EVE) LotRO gives me 17 character slots per server. Which means Iām paying $5.88 per character slot in LotRO, vs $50/slot in EVE.

SaaS isnāt the same as commodities. And they have SO many things they could do to monetize that players are BEGGING for, instead of making this harder for people who are already struggling with inflation, shortages and war
