[Discussion] PLEX and Omega price changes feedback thread

Yup. Definitely been mentioned. At least two posters in this thread are varying kinds of fixed income.

Already mentioned by a french player

And I am one of them…

Coming back after a few years break, looking at the changes made over that period of time I did not feel like encouraging it with $ and bought plex in game. Now they want 33% more of what I did not want to pay in the first place. Now I’m sure not going to sub in near future - probably never - on principle.

We have to pay for the new content in advance. Or so it seems.

why on gods green earth did they limit ā€œnew usersā€ to 5 posts on this thread? Why is @ISD_Buldath limiting the discussion? if this isn’t censorship IDK what is.

If you touch my subscription payment amount I’m cancelling my subscription. Keep it what it is or I’ll just play as an alpha.

This feels like an 11th hour desperate cash grab before the ship goes down.

After already selling off one of the most core aspects of the game which long term players considered a loyalty benefit of getting involved early in the piece - specifically skillpoints, and then selling a bunch of vanity items they had to look elsewhere.

Next port of call was to make all in-game gambling ā€œillegalā€ which saw the downfall of the likes of SomerBlink and others, only to be reintroduced by CCP under a different format which also required RL cash items to be purchased to put up the auctions. Of course you can buy them in game, but they still have to be purchased by someone in the world first.

Now that CCP have milked the community of everything they can think of in-game already - not to mention that they have destroyed the size of the paying playerbase with so many questionable changes around in-game mechanics - it seems inevitable that they would increase omega/plex to cover the shortfall.

That said, it’s also shortsighted and will cost them even more in the long run…

The biggest shame of the Forums here… is that I can’t upvote/like this post more than once.

CCP ill say this.
I accepted scarcity.
I accepted new industry.
I accepted BRM nerfs.

I accepted ALLLLLLLLLLLL the other crap over the last 2 years that were nerf’s.

The carrots that have taken place do NOT in any way shape or form justify a 33% jump up in price.
19.99-14.99=5
5/14.99 = 33%

At most, the carrots counter a fraction of the nerf’s that have been introduced over the past few years.
Is the game in a better place, starting to be. Does this price jump help that and or match a better value in ā€œContentā€. DEFO NOT.

If you commit to raising this price with out a justifiable increase in content to counter it, Kiss A ā– ā– ā– ā–  TON of subs goodbye. You will loose greater than 33% in sub value than you will gain by the increase.

btw noones talking about alphas, free2players

getting 1.6billion ISK to plex ur account allready is a real hell struggle and for 99% of newbros outright impossible
now grinding out 2 billion+ … just why

Not to mention this increase hasn’t been communicated in writing to active subscribers giving them the option to opt out, that’s very ā– ā– ā– ā– ā– ā– ā–  illegal here.

THIS. I recently got back into the game and I’m close to halfway to that first billion. This increase just feels like a real kick in the groin to all Alpha players.

CCP. You can do better.

With these rises, we’re effectively getting turned into shareholders.
Ok CCP, how about this compromise?

For the additional $$$'s, the player base should now have the ability to hold monthly votes and fire up to 5 CCP employees at a time.

@Arrendis, could be an interesting double play - increase sub to reduce concurrents(possible net profit, perhaps break even?) which leads to less hardware expense?

I was never able to make a billion isk. I paid out of pocket for my game time.
With this new increase, I will go back to playing for free. Like many, I liked flying bigger ships and working toward the top-of-the-line ships. So now I will take the attitude meh. it is a means to pass time and socialize.
