I think youāre right. Everything is against CCP/EVE now and in some regards, they have done this to themselves. In other ways, itās just the natural course of a product cycle. What you are talking about is incredibly complex. This really could hurt the game or even kill itā¦

CCP used to care about getting anyone who wanted to play, in the game. Now itās all about the whales and enough scrubs to feed them content.
They bumbled this messaging horribly. And the āpromiseā of content is only good for companies who have the good will of their players. That is no longer CCP

Humā¦ Iām a humble player from south America in a country with a serious economic crisis.
I counted my coins to make it to 1 month subscription and a bit of plex. With this increase Iāll have to count my coins again and might not make it.
So this is it for me with my one month subscription. I guess eve online is only for people in rich countries nowā¦
Itās kinda funny, I still remember in early 2004, eve didnāt accept my credit card to pay for the monthly subscription. I even tried different methods. Finally managed to get an international gold credit card, and a few years later, this.
CCP, you need to update the amount of money you get from your game to pay for your workers ā¦? What about making it actually cheaper so more people subscribes instead of exploiting the few people that are going to remain ?
Like I said, in my country is in an economic crisis coz we did what CCP is doing now: care only about people that buys a lot and ignore and let out the system people that donāt contribute much like there werenāt part of the same country. My country is the 2nd worst economy in south America after Venezuela for blindly apply this model for over 30 years.

My biggest fear if I was at CCP would be new players or lack there of.
It will be very off putting for new players.
I get that the long term subs are cheaper, 1 year is nearly the same as current pricing.
But that is not something a new player will invest in because of how much a player can lose in such a short space of time in New Eden.

But EVE has always had the new player issue so Iām guessing that worry isnāt as big of an issue.
Would you think that a new player, a younger player, might be less cost adverse than an older player that is used to player the same prices year after year? Is it possible that the old guard is just too inflexible and is having trouble dealing with change?
Iād be sad if the price increase results in the collapse of the ingame economy and the end of EVE. I really enjoy the game.
Everyone now knows the new prices and how much it will cost them personally. Each person will have to decide if the current game content is worth the new cost.
The reason for the price increase - inflation vs price gouging is irrelevant to most consumers. The price history since 2003 is also irrelevant. CCP can charge whatever they want and the market will decide.

How in the world can you justify this steep and sudden price increase, CCP?
I have been a long-time supporter and have had no hesitation subscribing 4 omega accounts each with multiple MPT certificates each month. With that steep of a price increase, along with the extremely nerfed outputs of resource harvesting in todayās world, subscribing that many accounts simply is not justifiable anymore.
You guys have failed to add any groundbreaking content in way too long. You always preach about player retention and how important it is to make this game approachable to new players. If I had never played EVE Online before and my friend told me that in order to actually enjoy the game you have to pay $20 a month, I would have laughed in your face.
I seriously hope you reconsider this price change. People, including myself, would be much more receptive to a slow-tiered system designed to raise the price in slight increments over the next few years instead of a 33% increase with a ZERO increase in value.
With everything going on in the world, and with the amount of money the EVE community raised for the war in Ukraine, this absolutely disappoints me. The greed is unbelievable honestly. Iāve been a long-time defender of CCP and the state of EVE Online, always giving them the benefit of the doubt and disagreeing with nay-sayers claiming EVE is dead. However, with acts like these, it truly is hard to believe that CCP cares about its players AT ALL. Just shows how absolutely disconnected from reality they are.
I will be highly considering unsubscribing all but one of my accounts and completely stopping using MCTs. It just isnāt worth it. You guys are truly killing one of the greatest games of all time, and this is not an exaggeration.

No one is shilling for anyone. I have played since 2007, and I recognize that due to inflation, the game has gotten even cheaper year by year.
Now CCP is raising the price to a bit closer to what it would be if they tied the price to inflation, (but not quite, if they did, the sub would be $24, not 20).
So I realize that, while that kind of sucks, itās not some big atrocity, rather I and the rest of us have had it so good for so long, but things like that come to an end. So rather than screeching impotently about it, Iām just going to play on and have fun while you miserable lot wallow in anger over 5 bucks.
You all know that you waste more than 5 bucks a month on BS, paying that extra 5 to CCP to keep omega status is nothing. But some of you LIKE being madā¦

The question isnāt to chose between bread and video game of courseā¦ Its all about people who will not be able to play anymore and I think they deserve the same amount of āfunā as they had before.
Im not complaining for multyboxers by exemple, it might bring balance, itās all about a great part of the community
