When it comes to the bottom line, they are not in change.
Nah, I do not believe it. If upper management does not listen then so be it. But I would think that there is somebody at CCP with enough input to actually influence them. Do they even try or just toe the line?
Anyway look at the Pochven area. Is the Trigs shooting you bug still a thing? I bet it is. Did the content in that change ever get polished? No. Is the area empty accept for an over abundance of PVP and blops? Yeah. Is there any reason to go there? Not really. Is there a pattern here? You tell me.
Is the industry really any better? Not for a little guy.

As I sit here thinking about this situation, I ask myself if CCP has no control over this decision. Why have a feedback thread? Maybe it has value as a place to vent? Personally, I have vented and taken action. After all, actions speak louder than words ever will.

Done. Not because of a boycott. But because of reality. It might not be much for some, but the increase was enough to price me out of the multi account market for now. One account and if money continues to get tight, then not even that anymore. Emotion did not make me do it, but I want to gripe now. Hell why not. Even this forum might not be around for long. Long being a year out from now.
The realty is CCP was bough for close to half a BILLION and while they do retain (probably) all creative freedoms, the financial ones are not theirs anymore, especially when they have performance targets to hit (ie bonuses) which we donāt donāt know the details to.
CCP might warn PA about the repercussions of being forced to do something to hit a target but at the end of the day, this is a business and they are there to earn, or have to earn.
IMO, if you want to be mad then CCP is probably not the target for this issueā¦or the last one too (ship pack),
Ive only been here a month now and I was thinking how expensive this game is considering its content and the lack of interactivity regarding servers. A legacy server could run this. Menu driven, no control commands other than keyboard interaction. Some MUDās I used to play would use more bandwidth. So the price Hike I can only assume is for a massive program upgrade or everyone that pays out that amount of money each month receives a monetary reward, shares in CCP (or was a C missed off it the company name)
I was going to commit to Omega and see where it led to, I wont be doing that now. I rent a garage space for my car each month for less than that. See where Alpha takes me and reassess later on down the line.
CCP is the face of Eve. Pearl Abyss is not. I understand where you are coming from, but understand this. When something boneheaded happens, then CCP will take it on the chin. Period. If they cannot stomach it, then they are probably in the wrong business. And yeah, I bet that CCP has pull. Maybe not the ultimate pull, but pull they have. Anyway how do you know that someone at CCP told the Chinese that this would be a great move, that people will continue to sub anyway, and not to worry about it. Remember Fozzie? Fozzie Sov? Was he not CCP? I find it hard to believe that CCP had nothing to do with it.

I have a few accounts subbed, but if you want to raise the price Iāll be reducing the number of subs I have active, and wonāt bat an eye. Really as simple as that.

I never, ever said anything close to thisā¦What I am saying is that they probably have a target to hit for revenue from subs line on a spreadsheet somewhere given to them from PA. Raising the sub price is the quick way to hit that target. A warning might have/could have been issues about the long term effects but that was probably ignored.
I donāt want to sound callouses about CCP but Iām guessing they really donāt care as they have already made their bank. Bonus from targets hit and jobs for a few years after the sale was/is just gravy.
ps. It was a SK company that bought CCP, not a Chinese one.

You have the New Eden Store for additional income - one Iām willing to pay for.
You added PLEX - something which Iām happy to pay for.
You added training enhancers - something which Iām happy to pay for.
So I find it incredibly rich to think that itās necessary to increase your subscription prices by 25% when almost every other company has kept it at $15 USD to this day - not to mention so many more going completely free to play.
Iāll keep my one account active, but youāre no longer getting $60 USD from me. And from the sounds of it, youāre going to be losing a lot of money from this.
I sincerely hope you reverse this decision, and fire the CFO who approved this mess. Yes, I get the pandemic added costs to you. But letās not forget that this applies to everyone else. Iām getting paid way less at my current job.
So instead of trying to weaponize the pandemic for your own gain, consider everyone else here. But by doing this, you just stabbed yourself in both feet with a rusty shovel. Twice. And even reversing these changes may not be enough now - you need to regain the trust of the community now. I for one am now questioning my trust in you. I donāt even think the CSM was made aware of these changes, and Iām sure each and every one of them would have told you how bad of an idea this is. I hope they all resign in protest. And I hope capsuleers pull another protest as well.
