I want what this guy is smoking. Positive changes recently. You mean CCP back pedalling on “scarcity” and restoring the game to how it was 2 years ago? Wasting 2 years of potential?
… Sorry, the complaint line was long for this one. Lost what I was about to say… Oh, so … yep lost it again so let’s start with this. Want me to pay more per account, fine. (My rent went up by $400 a month so meh. ) But seriously the content, or proclaimed content better be more impressive than this new skin that’s nothing more than a re-hue of another skin, (Which was insulting by the way) that you have to activate on a character regardless of if you fly the ship or not ( No comment ). Even better, lets invest some of this extra revenue into improving customer service. If I had a dollar for every time I try to report an issue to better this game and the first response is “No Reimbursement”… I didn’t ask for a reimbursement, I’m just trying to help fix this broken sh… Sorry that hit a nerve for me (EVE PTSD). I can go on for hours about the issues and even offer solutions but it will fall on deaf ears or excuses. Also, I just noticed the thread while I was typing, downtime is not important enough to do a full dread about it (The average person typically doesn’t care, Ship skins hold more value than this honestly). But seriously, it is seldom that I pay for a game subscription, that shows the value of Eve Online, and I am willing to pay extra, but CCP must do better.
P.S.
T3 battleships might work since you want my money so bad. I mean, it couldn’t possibly go as bad as the whole walking in station thing.
CCP are incredibly good at shoving expectations onto the future. with the PROMISE that you’ll like it. and in the end all it ends up being is more bullsh*t and empty promises that never pan out because lazy devs want a free paycheck to do basically nothing but quit projects half way through them. I for one refuse to pay for another garbage FPS failure. or another attempted mobile game. I paid good fcking money for my PC and I play games on IT… not my phone. I honestly hope this kills the company. The only sad thing about CCP shutting down is all of these worms who work at CCP will infect other companies with their sub 80 iq levels when they inevitably go job hunting. Thus ruining some other poor franchise in the future undoubtably
First of all, the game is not cheap to begin with. And to raise the sub for a game that is already slowly losing its player base is the worst idea ever.
Dont worry guys, i have paid for 100 monkeys to go to fanfest and sling ■■■■ at CCP as they are slinging ■■■■ at us again!!!
Our whole alliance will have a meeting soon to speak about a whole shutting down of all of our Omega accounts. Too much is too much. Turn your eyes in the other games around and the technology they uses (procedural generations, lods, massive open worlds). Why should we chose EvE while the technology is decreasing while the price is increasing? If you decide not looking around, I’ll do with my team of peoples and leave EvE ASAP. Cheers
my corp and I are moving to star citizen, We are always looking for more guys to play with, I think you need like 28 dudes to pilot a capital ship in that game? The doors open, just email me if your guys are interested in SC
I’m so happy that i unsubbed all except my main account at the Jita Riot. My fear that you can not trust ccp has been confirmed.
I will continue plex my alt char. This way some other suc*er pays money for me to ccp for my subbed account.
I’m sure there are many people like me who really want this game to flourish…but for goodness sakes CCP, you make it sooooo hard for anyone to stick with Eve, let alone for new players to decide to to take the leap into Omega. Please, for the love of God, can you just try, for once, to stop continually shooting yourselves in the foot! Maybe do nothing for a year…yes…Nothing. That would be good.
I’m just imagining a big murmur going through the crowd and everyone turning and leaving with disappointed faces when the big reveal comes at Fanfest.
This fatal wrong decision can mean the end of EVE. The game is simply too complicated, and once you’ve made some progress, you need another account or two. The game demands a lot of time and requires stamina with high frustration tolerance. CCP would have to know their remaining player base well enough to predict their reactions. The price increase is not only a zero-sum game but a clear losing proposition in the end. It’s only a matter of time before the closed war, economy, and trade system will collapse when the experienced players give up. The strategy besides fixing the game and giving real content fitting to the concept must be to lower the subscription to make EVE more attractive to new players and give old players reasons to stay in the game and use more accounts if necessary.
As an FF14 player who has an Entry account (12.99/mo) I do have to say your chart is a bit misleading on that entry. You’re showing EVE’s price for 12 months but FF14’s for 6. IF you doubled FF14’s 6 month bundle (which is the largest they have) and compared it with EVE, EVE’s would still be cheaper after this change. At 12 months is the moment when EVE’s subscription bundle actually beats out FF14’s cheapest option.
That said I’ve been unsubbed to EVE for years now and it’s not the price that kept me away. So this change most certainly isn’t luring me back any time soon, kek.
Man I so want to continue playing. I went back and looked at all my older most trained up toons to see if maybe I would go ahead and do it. Then looked at the new price chart again. Its now almost 50 dollars to play one account for three months. You need at least two accounts if you plan on doing anything low sec or null. You need a spy to go through the gates first. If you mine you want at least one barge or better and one Porpoise at least. Two accounts is almost one hundred dollars for three frigging months now.
Saying it that way makes me want to cry. I don’t have the time to invest in PLEXING. I simply do not, and I wonder if you can PLEX off to anyway. It seems that any industry minded players do it with more than two accounts. What a grind. I don’t do very many extra curricular things now days. I do not buy lattes and the like for those latte sipping Eve snobs that bring that one up. I buy 7 11 coffee if at all. I make my own lunch. I drive a beat to crap car. Damn, Just damn man.
Suppose that’s true, then what we have now, is a colossal marketing and communications fail.
Anyone with half a brain would announce the big expansion first, or at the same time as the price hike announcement.
Something like: “Hey we got this huge expansion in the works with features X, Y, Z, but we’re gonna need more money to finish it, so the prices will increase in the future. Since it’s not ready yet, have this nice Omega discount right now.”
Assuming there is a big expansion of course, but a message like that would go over much better, especially if the players really liked the sound of X, Y and Z.
In any case, the last announcements have been a major screw-up.
I’ve only been playing this game for a year and half with 3 Omega accounts and I’ll admit I’ve spent WAY too much on PLEX for in game currency and skill injectors to help me do some what of a catch up to be able to fly the ships I want etc…
Over this past 1.5 years I have seen changes to the game some positive but mostly negative and I feel almost cheated in investing my time and money in this game even for the short period I have been playing and I feel absolutely disgusted for the players who have been subbed to this game for a lot longer than I have.
Eve online was the first PC game I’ve played with any sort of commitment, I actually bought a Desktop PC just to play Eve and I subbed 3 omega accounts shortly after, I’m on the fence with this one, I really hope CCP pull their heads out of their asses and give the player base more transparency and reward us with new updates and changes that the player base wants otherwise I think I will have to end my omega time here.
You would just switch from the 1 year to the 2 year after logging into your account on the secure EVE online page dealie… and then when the time is up on the current sub, it’ll start the 2 year sub.
that’s how it’s always worked in the past, at least. but in the past 1 year was the max length, so we’re heading into uncharted waters here. but as someone else said, you’re also committing to 24 months… and hoping that the game will also match that. 12 months was… long enough. 24? egad.
Subscription cancelled on my accounts. When my recent omega ends… Bye you all, was a funny years o7
The recent survey makes it obvious ccp is interested in making a mobile game and they want us to fund it
sorry to say but i have yet to see any improvements as of late. i only seen a lot of crap updates that had badly effected industry and caused prices and manufacturing costs to go up. now they plan on increasing pay for subscriptions? i have been playing this game since 2010. it use to be good until as of late when they added this game as “free”
Obligatory “don’t you guys have mobile phones?!” Gonna be a great fanfest.
