I just said screw it and went and canceled my last measly little Omega account. The more a read the more depressed I get. I made an Alpha yesterday after the wonderful news CCP so graciously bestowed on all us plebes. But I imagine I will not be very happy with an Alpha after being an Omega so long. I was an Omega before Omega was a thing. Now I bet CCP goes and takes away the free to play Alpha as more of us do the same. How they will manage to explain taking away the free to play thing will go over like a fart in church. But they will. The grind is already long for any small timer to try and PLEX. I never bothered. To much time in game and out of real life to do that. At least for me.

I may just keep the Alpha and check in here from time to time. People always say its the end. This time I think they may have hit the nail on the head. Will miss it. Not worth the coin in the current state.

Price increase on 6month and above plans is not that much, Game is in a state where i thing it is worth it the price increase so it doesnt turn pay to win

ALPHAā€¦ALPHA NOW!

So many games on steam have players creating content. Why not let the player base create and design ship skins. I have so many ideas for skins but no way of creating them. Making games more mod friendly is a great way for community involvement and further participation. Iā€™m dissatisfied with most of the new SKINs and bundles that Iā€™ve seen. The clothes etc as well. Why not open it up? Certainly a way to get more players interested.

Its the frigging idea of the thing. They way they ā€œannouncedā€ this coming on the heels of all the other crap they have done. You just do not get it.

SP farmā€¦bam, Done. Yeah right. No EVE done. Bam.

Not that much. Nope, maybe for you, not for me and apparently not for a boat load of others. Anyway the only way to make it really work is long term. Like a year or better, and at the rate CCP is burning through good will it will not be here a year from now. Two years is their big selling point. You really think at this rate it will be here in two years? Does CCP think this? Have you not read this forum? Is it really worth the risk to invest that much up front for a game were the deves have been so lazy as to just put a new skin on the same old content? To not finish new content? Its already pay to play. Its turning pay to win.

Compare this also, They are proposing Ā£20 and ā‚¬20 per month for eve, FF14 is Ā£7.69(ā‚¬10.99) or Ā£8.99(ā‚¬12.99) depending on basic or standard. At least they use exchange rates like every other company in the world, Slight price difference in the MMOā€™s when you look at non-US currency.

for me its disappointing that they went this route and i had been origonally playing in 2008 but officially was dedicated in 2010. i hate seeing ccp go this route, but in the end they never listen to their players any more. its no a ā€œthe community is gettingā€ instead of giving what the community want. we asked for many fixes to industry to make it worth using again but not going to happen, fix exploits gankers are using, and plenty of other things that should not be in the game that should be removed that are too much to list, but again, they truly just dont care about anything but their pockets any more. maybe i will while at it, get a refund on the year and half i got left on my main character and my 2 months i got left on one of my last omega alts since this game when down the hole.

Unsubbed 4 accounts

You guys will lose way more than you will earn. Every marketing school 101 knows that increasing the price in a dying product always have had the opposite effect. Thatā€™s basic knowledgede

So then itā€™s not the money? In the post I was replying to, you are clearly upset about the money so itā€™s a bit confusing if now you are not saying itā€™s not about the money but, I donā€™t know, ā€œfeelingsā€? I canā€™t help with that but I tried for the money issue with suggestion.

sorry to burst your bubble, it have been pay to win for a long time

First off all the timing is way off, dont understand who is in charge of marketing but right before fanfest and after 2 years off no new content, its not the right time to increase prices.

Eve is a game that gets fun if you have multiple accounts so you can do different things at once, industry alt, mining alt, pvp alt, you name it. Maybe thats a problem aswell, if you compare it to other mmoā€™s take wow for example, you gain nothing by having multiple accounts so only one sub is needed to fully enjoy your game.

Since most of us have multiple accounts it would be a lot smarter from ccp to keep the prices as is and give a reduction on each extra account. That way more people would take an extra one or easier for new people to get one and ccp gets more earnings on the long way.

Alpha accounts should get more limits, or time limit and give a promotion deal when subbing to omega.

More items like skins but then not just some colors on your ship.

I rly hope they have a nice surprise for us at fanfest and that the damage they did by announcing this can be made undone.

Eve is such a nice game and it would be a waste if it would die.

Maybe a last thing they should rly do something on the magic 14 for example, back in the days you needed to learn skills to learn other skills faster remember? Now you have skills to improve your skills to get better fitting. Wouldnt it be nice to refund those and dont need to bother with them and focus right away on the fun stuff?

Just my 2 cent as a 13 year eve player with 3 subs

I say raise the omega prices even higher. Money is of no object to the KING of high sec who dwells in luxury at the Scarlet Palace in Osmon. The 44,000 exotic dancers (female) giggle at all the miners who rage and spew their negativity towards CCP and the devs.

We here at the Scarlet Palace salute CCP and the devs. o7

CCP donā€™t let negative player reactions get in your head. Stay the course. I have spoken.

They kinda listened a few months or so back. The shooting of structures in Jita was entertaining to watch. But did they listen? Iffy. They did take back some of the changes, and for that they rebuilt some bridges.

They started gaining the good will back, but this hit like a ton of bricks yesterday. For all those saying " its not that much", well go be a Russian citizen for a while, or Polish or any other citizen in eastern Europe. Go be a citizen in some crappy little American town, or somewhere in the UK were the price of everything sky rocketed. Can they even afford their tea anymore? Can anyone afford crap since the whole pandemic shut down lost your job thing? Or the whole supply chain thing? Or the world wide inflation where the cost of everything goes up but your wages never do? CCP really screwed the pooch in the way they launched this one. And wait till Fanfest is all they have to say. Wait my butt. I decided not to wait. Wait for what? What changes this time?

Creating my first forum post ever since I started EVE.

This is absurd. I can not believe that the people in CCP would not see this change resulting in the exactly opposite what they are after.

Iā€™m only subbing two accounts and I have a full time job, and even Iā€™m thinking of cancelling my subs and moving on to another game. Reasons have been voiced here a thousand times already: 20 euros per month for an old game such as this is simply too much in comparison to the lack of content released. This change will only result in existing players cancelling their alt-subs and at the same time make the game even less attractive to new players.

You are trying to put down a fire by throwing fuel into it.

Fix existing and well documented issues within the game first, then release new content while keeping especially the new potential gamers in mind, and advertise these changes well. Lure in more (old and new) players to get more subs, rather than try to charge more from the little amount of customers you have left, or they will leave you as well.
