this is actually a really disgusting move. with the way the world is going (war, fuel prices, housing, inflation etc), for many many people around the world (including people with an unfavorable exhange rate) Eve is one of last places of escape and enjoyment then you drop this. amazing.

I am for the price increase, actually. CCP has a very small number of subscribers, compared to other MMOs. We shouldn’t expect the price to be the same as it is for other MMOs. They are defraying development costs over a smaller pool of customers. I would rather they do it this way than by using pay-to-win mechanisms.
That said, they had better pour some of this money back into additional development.

It now costs more for players to create sandbox content? That doesn’t make any sense when nothing of value has been added by CCP to the game. It makes even less sense, and seems downright evil, when CCP messes with the in game economy, forcing “scarcity”, then doubles down on this idea by requiring participants to pay more to play around with less. Nonsensical at best. Incredibly short sighted and stupid at worst. Are your Ferrari’s in need of an overhaul or something?

Trying to keep up with the plan here . . .
CCP seems to have stopped developing new content, at least any that is appreciated by the player community.
The player community now seems to be the primary content driver in the game (does that make us “the product”?).
Now CCP is saying that they will charge us more for the privilege of adding content to their game. I’m a little confused.
PSA: if you use PayPal, might want to check the pre-auth status of payments to CCP; they automatically pre-auth future payments when you sub once.

Well i was considering resubbing but with this price hike i’m more certain than ever now not to bother!
I never worked for a game company, but I did work in software development. Many companies in that area would drop a product that made as little revenue as EvE does to focus on products with the potential to make 100x that revenue. I bet every month there is a meeting where the execs consider whether to pull the EvE devs and shift them over to the other MMO they have. I am not against this change. It sucks to pay more, of course, but honestly, I think that’s the price we pay for keeping what is really a pretty niche product alive.

So, your subscription has become cheaper every year since 2004, and has just now been updated to a price that is STILL cheaper than it was in 2004 (adjusted for inflation in $)
It would have been smarter to do smaller increases if only to ward off all the people who don’t understand their own money.

LOL CCP has now totally screwed this game, not everyone is rich enough to pay 20 dollars per account specially when your own country currency is very weak to the dollar, bunch of greedy sharks

I can’t speak for everybody else, but I told them:
- This was bad timing, and folks would hate it and them for it and there was nothing they could do to stop that
- It’s extremely tough to swallow a price increase with no additional content
- They should have put this out before the NFT/Industry and Citadel changes so there’d be at least some good news to take the sting out
- They should provide discounts to players with more than one account, since they’ll be the ones most impacted by this increase
- No amount of turd polishing was going to make folks okay with this, and the blowback was going to be significant.

Keeping servers up become much cheeper masive layoffs easier faster infrastructure…
so the 15 dolars are not justified !!! thats why all other games never done this

I’d love to post a long winded drawn out rage post.
But I’m finding I don’t have the energy to -care- anymore. Its been over 3 years of game-breaking updates while being squeezed for cash from every monetization practice imaginable, including ones that your entire CSM past and present had to stand and tell you ‘NO’.
Selling Real world ad-space and monetizing that way would have been better received than a price hike.
Goodbye, CCP. I’d say I’ll miss you, but you’ve made sure that I won’t.
