[Discussion] PLEX and Omega price changes feedback thread

Alpha is FREE, how much cheaper do you want? Oh, they also get daily login rewards no?

But it hasn’t increased the number of players…it is possible something else was driving them away, but it is not very good support that lowering prices will result in more players sufficient to overcome the lost revenues.

Just because alpha is free doesnt mean that increasing the cost to play will ever get them to actually subscribe lmao. Especially when alpha is hard limited. Not when theres better space games available and no other mmo costs more than 15 per sub. If you think this garbage game that’s removed more content than it has added in the last 2 years deserves more than any mmo to date then you are basically a cow getting milked and CCPs prime new demographic lol

The ā€œFREEā€ Alpha is a joke, if you ask me. You can barely do anything in the game. Just fly some frigs around, woot and gas mine. woot.

The free content in other games is almost entirely open-ended, and the only things limiting your enjoyment and capabilities in the game are convenience items or cosmetic items.

Can’t Alpha’s use the Gnosis? I haven’t done Alpha so don’t know all the ins-and-outs…

Alphas can fly battleships. They just can’t use T2 large guns. I’ve got entire fleet doctrines set up for alphas.

Alpha’s can go up through Battleships. It will take you a while, but you can.

Likely has to do with what’s provided for free when compared to what else is in the market. Final Fantasy XIV provides what some would consider a lot in terms of content before having you decide if you want to commit, SWTOR, GW2, and WoW all have their free admission ticket in the hopes you’ll want to pay for more.

EVE is in its own bubble if it were. The only recent competitor to the game was Second Galaxy, Perpetuum’s dead in the water and currently supported by its own community, meanwhile Dual Universe, No Man’s Sky, and Elite Dangerous all provide a similar space experience but still vastly different due to the difference in perspective and features found in them.

For literal years EVE’s selling point in attracting people to it has been ā€œThe Butterfly Effectā€ in its ā€œSandboxā€ - where you as a player forge your own adventure and the choices you make playing the game can have a long lasting impression on those around you and the game at large. For years we have sites reporting on ā€œmassive wars where billions and trillions are flung around and getting blown upā€ and other various events ranging from the good to the bad.

Unfortunately the game has continued to fail in addressing important points and aspects of its own gameplay to new players to help set them on their way within the game as well as adapting to the changes in the market that would make people want to keep playing for the long term. However there’s also nothing else available right now that offers the same kind of gameplay as EVE does in the perspective that it presents itself in, so there’s also not a reason for them to try and ā€œbranch outā€ as it were. Especially considering how Dust 514 and Valkyrie turned out.

It’s going to be $30 Australian Dollars! Insanity.

Almost 2k replies in … a bit more than 23 hours. I didn’t read all of them but considering the subreddit of r/eve and this, I’d say you live in the rainbow world. If you continue with this madness, I’ll shut down my 2004 accounts as a FACT.

Enjoy the path to doom.

Statements like this is like people complaining about being with a big bank for years and expect special treatment lol.

ā€œBut I’ve banked here for years!ā€ so what.

It says 23K players on Tranquility.

you folks are completely off your rocker
you haven’t produced a decent expansion in what 5 6 years ? youve taken away walking in stations , youve taken away the jukebox , youve taken away the browser , re balanced over and over and over , tore up the economy , made more p2w aspects , and then you come at us with a price increase ? LOL hs .

23k players logged into TQ, and they demand ability to field 25,000 players in a space battle.

Now I know you’re having a laugh.

I just peeked at it. Good graphics.

Anyone who thought this wasn’t coming down the pike was living in a dreamworld.

Ukraine war has put everything into overdrive. Food prices are up, gas prices are up, hydro is up. Why should an MMO not change in price as well? I can’t get the screaming of outrage. CCP has to pay the bills too like you and I.

Do what most people do to get by: go through your household budget and find whats worth keeping and whats worth cutting. I am dropping Netflix (it’s crap now) and gonna switch ISPs. I’m not gonna eat out as much and will brown bag it to work. That will leave me enough to cover the cost of my sub. Those of you who are leaving can contract me your stuff on the way out.

Adapt.

EDIT: flagged cos it was off topic? it’s about the price increase and how people should adapt to it. Sounds more like it was flagged because people were bitterraging.

The digital product is powered by real world things. Did you miss the part where I said the basics are going up in price? Especially the gas and hydro?
