Look I get it not all things are created equal for everyone all over the world. Iām from Canada and compared to most other countries I will admit we are not hit as hard as other countries. The pain is still there though. Iām saying donāt hate CCP for doing what they have to. Lots of entertainment services are going to do the same thing to keep afloat and one way is to ask for subbers to pay. more.

My take? I sighed when they told us and nodded. I donāt like it but I understand the reasons behind it. Away with your BS protestations that there is no reason for the price of this ONE thing to go up when everything else has. The world gets more expensive, there is a term for that and yet some of you seem locked on the idea that Eve is not of this world, is purely digital, and is not connected to the real market. Youāre wrong.
Fanfest. Yes I am going, I even am giving a talk there. But the reason that I am going is not to see what NEW and EXITING things are ahead of us, Not to see CCP justify the price changes. It is to see people, my fellow players. I am honestly looking forward to that.
This year my acct was paid for because I was on the CSM, in the years that I have not served on the council I have paid and not quibbled about it. I expect that will be true next year and the year after (If I still exist) I, like others who have spoken up, am on a fixed income (retired teacher). I have one account not because I cannot justify more but because it is all I need to play.
Yes, I agree that things being more expensive hurts. But I have met the folks who work at CCP, not just the big name devs but the staff behind them. The game exists because of them and because of US. You, me, the other people logged on, we are all part of the game and an integral part at that.

Pretty sure your right. I bet they are clothed, housed, have excellent benefits and enjoy hobbies, vacations going out quite frequently too.

Ok. Iām going to look into this one. Itās not Eve, but it has some of the same stuff. This reviewer does not even refer to Eve.
Far too much focus on currency inflation since EVE launch here. Particularly when there has been extreme deflation in the cost of computation over that time.
Can blame inflation all you wantā¦ customers are only going to care about perceived value of the product/service relative to cost (which is largely based on prices of competitors). EVE becoming the most expensive MMO sub is like a meal at McDonaldās suddenly costing more than one at Red Lobster:

I will try to stay and sub, but i feel like CCP is letting our country go, itās not that the few players we have here are leaving, I feel we will be left behind by the company. The retation is at great risk.

Your right, all things go up in price over time. CCP does have real world increasing costs which is probably why we saw things like:
- PLEX split from 1 to 500 with an epic net financial gain to Eve Market and CCP real world
- Optional PLEX packs for real world to in-game currency infusion
- Optional Ship Skins and character vanity items that provide an entirely separate income stream
- Optional Player packs with PLEX, Skins, MCT and SP providing another huge income stream
Would have been nice to see price change paired to some major planned update vs trying to pass it off as cost of whatās been provided and will continue to be.
CCP has in the past proven it self to be a very savvy company when comes to making money. In addition to all the optional items in the EvE store, the Alpha clone was one of its smartest moves that gives new players a taste and makes them thirsty for more. The EvE partnership was a masterstroke of genius saving millions on advert costs.
So while all things go up in price, CCP has for more than a decade excelled at showing they donāt have to if other creative means are available. I look forward to seeing how this decision shapes the future of EvE.

Iāll pay it if they rehire everyone they fired leading upto, during, and shortly after the PA buyout. If they fire rattati and hire another economist ill even resub my alts and i wont even ā ā ā ā ā about paying more than any other mmo in the world even though this game requires multiple accounts so everyone is paying at least two subs.
