Oh. X4 is single player. So it runs on my computer. No data center out there. No corps, alliances, friends, enemies.
I need the other humming beings, even you, Princess Aiko Danuja. Without you high sec is boring. Bring back the old war decs.

But that’s irrelevant as there are a ton of other factors involved.
I’ve only been playing this game a few years, and initially I felt the monthly subscription back when i started was a bit much for a game that had not had any true progress or new content added to it, but I continued on. Through plexing some additional accounts I was able to engage in fights, get bigger and more expensive ships and generally engage in what I felt the game was meant for, hell I even used to do indy.
But everytime there were changes and updates you said you were listening to the player base on what needed to change and what the players were asking for, your changes to ratting and then mining and industry made me realise that this wasn’t the case, you weren’t listening to anyone, just yourselves.
This change and its “justifcation” really will be the last nail in the coffin for many players, new and old. And I shall be one of them, I am not going to spend countless hours grinding isk to try and be able to enjoy the game, sounds like WoW. I’m cancelling all my plex accounts and the subscription on this one, I’ll be cancelling. I’ll burn my isk reserves plexing this and then I’m gone.

I will wait and see what they say at Fanfest, but I will planning to close 4 of my 7 accounts.
@Mike_Azariah $5 dollar increase. Give or take, not really a game breaker in my opinion, but then again, there are those that have to manage their financials like a hawk. The other thing is, everything around the world is going up in price. GAS is bonkers, food is going up, the overall COST to living is always being driven up.
While it is unfortunate to see, and i’m a bit unhappy with the plex actually in bulk being MORE strikes me a odd. Take for example, I sometimes would buy the $99 dollar plex bundle, which was a base of I think 2200 + 660 (2860) free. so it came out to be for me, the ability to pay $100 bucks (rounding up due to mad math skills) for, 5 accounts for a month, with some plex left over. Not too bad, but now with this
3,000 PLEX $124.99 USD which from 2860 total @ $100 bucks seems to be a whole lot more $ asked for not a whole lot more. Which is interesting. because the other tier I’d had some history of buying is 6,000 PLEX $239.99 USD which is the new scale. You are requesting us pay $10 dollars less to receive about 3 accounts worth, less plex?
Don’t get me wrong, I like the fixed easy to see numbers. Making things easy to calculate, but again, It’s not like 5-10 dollars difference it’s actually quite a substantial change and one, that I am seeing bulk is meaning less for a lot more.
One last thing, TALK to us, please, it’s the least you can do, really. Please wake up, motivate us like you were once motivated to make this game and for all the years inbetween. It’s hurting me because Im fixated on EVE. It’s unlike any other game, and if I know you CCP, you just gotta get out of your own internal slump and wake up. Fight whatever is dragging you back into it’s clutches and just wriggle around until your body and mind are awake and free for a few moments, to speak with us, and let us know why you’ve cared about a game for at least 6-8 of the 19 years it’s been here for us. The games core was built by you, and it’s identity still can be forged back again by YOU. Help us, help you.

Oh dear. I was just about to return to the game and then I saw this announcement which has put me off. No game is worth £15.50p a month, MMO or not, wonder how many subs CCP will lose after May 17th.

Thank-you CCP you just saved me $75 a month with this price increase, sorry i just don’t trust you actually care about your player base and are just milking us till the servers are unplugged. I’m not quitting EVE but i am reducing my account to just 1 sub now for the foreseeable future.
Good luck with experiencing your own created scarcity, subs aren’t a god given right @CCP_RATTATI

One thing I should add, folks in game, please help bring prices of Plex maybe back down a bit, that might help us all, so I think the matter is in our hands, we control the markets and seeing the 3mil per piece mark is cringe, I like 2.5mil. Thanks <3

When you’re citing ‘if costs are going up for you, they’re going up for others’ as justification for this price increase (despite CCP Paragon saying the loss of income from the Russian customers is the ‘primary reason’), then no, the behavior of others is not irrelevant, as looking at how others are handling the current economic climate has a direct bearing on how CCP’s handling of it should be evaluated.
So, to do that I might buy plex with $$ and sell it in game. Supply and demand.

Cant speak for anyone but myself, Its not so much the price increase. Its about two years of CCP 's " Were taking away most of your ability to earn isk and we need to do this or the Game will die" Then we need to focus everything on new players or the game will die, Then Vet players need to embrace the suck for the good of the game or … Its so anoying

It is when you are dealing with companies with other revenue streams, not just one game. It’s apples and oranges. Are you really going to sit there and say that both Blizzard and CCP should be able to deal with economy changes over two decades exactly the same?
Yes, look at how CCP has managed things but don’t use the “but they did it” argument as it’s pointless.
I know what you’re trying to do @CCP_Swift and it makes sense to raise the prices in line with inflation. But there are four big problems:
- The fanfest numbers are already low, so why would you dampen the mood further for those attending by announcing a price hike just days before? This is horrible judgement. I am paying to go to fanfest to have a good time and I know I’m going to be looking around at a much lower attendance than what I’m used to and this is not quite good. This price increase is just making it worse.
- The 30% increase for some tiers is too much, it’s sticker shock
- You’re not thinking about new players. The buyer’s journey for players is alpha → try omega for a few months → yearly subscription. Alphas don’t go straight from not paying anything to subscribing for two years. Why would you make this barrier for them?
- the thing that others have pointed out that you’re pushing the 1 month omega with autorenewal at a 30% discount until April 25 and then swapping that out at a much higher price, that’s an ugly bait-and-switch
