That’s one Retriever from 6 years ago, try again.

In my experience, people who type that are not laughing, and they are quite unwell.

That’s rather inappropriate for a forum discussion of diversity and harassment.

Ironic considering you just posted this:

again.

I don’t know. I feel pretty bad about it sometimes because this seems like an obvious cry for some kind of social engagement, but I’m most definitely not qualified to deal with whatever it is that he has.

I wish Archer were here.

Stating that you appear unwell is simply an observation, which is reinforced by your wholly inappropriate response.

I see your white knight ankle biter has joined in to echo your harassment.

You two are far too comfortable with getting away with what you accuse everyone else of doing.

Beautiful

Sometimes, I think women just don’t want to understand men. These “microagressions” and “mansplaining” and complaining about the day to day interactions… sheesh. Learn to play with the boys, or don’t. But don’t try to make them conform to how women are. I’m really not down with coddling men and getting them to open up about their feelings and how we need to be ~inclusive~ and ~equitable~ and all this other BS.

What would you think if a man came into a woman-dominated space and started making demands that things be done in a more masculine way because of inclusivity? How would that fly?

God forbid you have to be equitable.

You must feel victimized.

I like how you equate stuff like making rape and murder threats with “making men conform to how women are.” This must be what is known as a “pro move” in the industry.

Yes, feeling entitled to not be told by a fellow video game player that they’ll ■■■■ you to death is exactly as irrational as “a man coming into a woman-dominated space and starting to make demands that things be done in a more masculine way because of inclusivity.” You hit the nail on the head right there.

These are but a handful of many, many examples. If the Eve girl discord got together and catalogued all of the things we’ve experienced, the document would be dozens if not hundreds of pages.

I presume these were reported to the relevant authorities or in game to the Mods/CCP when they happened?

Yeah, inasmuch as I/we could. For instance, shortly after I made a report to Goons about the guy who threatened to have me and my kid disappeared, he was kicked out of his corp and GSF within the day, and blacklisted from every null bloc in the game shortly thereafter. Like same-day turnaround on GSF removal. I reported it to CCP and they replied that because the threat was issued on Discord, even though it was using an acct that was surely authed to the Eve Discord server and used his in-game name both as the display name and the identifier, they couldn’t take any action. I don’t begrudge them that policy, I guess. Sometimes the most effective thing to do is to ensure that someone has no way to contact you except through Eve.

But I have the standing - in terms of position within my corp/alliance, support of my peers, and personal confidence - to do this, and Goons now have a formal structure to handle such complaints. Most alliances don’t have the social climate necessary to handle these kinds of things effectively, or don’t have the leadership with solid enough spines to handle these kinds of things effectively, or the women involved simply don’t feel like they’d be believed or supported, and therefore determine that it’s not worth it to come forward with a complaint. It’s the same reason most rapes go unreported.

Is that indicative of a healthy culture? The women here are resoundingly saying “no,” and the like six dudes keeping this thread alive through sheer unwillingness to see any view other than their own are like “nah this is fine.” Lol.
