Do you have to play forever?

Wasn’t talking about a Titan, don’t want one. I wouldn’t know what to do with it besides getting it blown up anyway.

I don’t have all the details but it sounds like you got royally screwed. Anyone that doesn’t see this as a tragedy is an a-hole.

It’s a game. Pixels. They chose to play it, chose to spend their time and money on it, no one forced them, they had fun until that happened. If you can’t keep something in EVE then you ought to lose it, that’s the game, PvP… there is no ‘tragedy’ in PvP or video games that allow PvP and much everything else to happen. They knew the risks.
The tragedy is having so many in-game assets and not log in to save it.

No, you can avoid being an IDIOT and avoid putting all your eggs into one basket (in case it’s not clear, I’m not talking about a literal egg or a literal basket, but in general it’s a bad strategy to put everything you have into one place). Let this be an actual IRL life lesson for you, like maybe you should avoid putting all your IRL money under your bed where it’s all gonna be lost if your house catches fire?

FUN FACT: You can enjoy EvE without putting everything you own into a Keepstar.

You can use asset safety to get it put somewhere it should be safe forever, albeit at a rather high cost of taking it back out. There’s also what people did before citadels: safelog them on dedicated toons

I am going to have to call BS on all these claims that you can protect your stuff. CCP decided to change the rules by getting rid of asset safety as it was understood by the playerbase.

A bunch of people then said that people were idiots for using citadels and that NPC stations were 100% safe. A few months later CCP invented Pochven.

At this point, CCP has a history of this. If you walk away from the game and stop reading up on updates then you should accept that CCP might do something very destructive to your character or assets.

To be fair, asset safety removal for abandoned citadels was an entire order of magnitude more stupid to do suddenly than create Pochven, as far as assets from old players go. In Pochven your stuff is still there, and you can grab it, or pay someone else to haul it for you. With the abandoned citadels your stuff is gone.

What happened to the days when people logged their titans and supers off with their main or a logging alt? Thats what I would do if I was going to leave the game for any period of time… Assuming I had a Titan or Super.

Also given the forums and announcements I’m not sure what more CCP could do to let everyone know that after a given date their stuff would no longer be as safe as they assumed. They were given a notice period.

Players should take responsibility for their own stuff, the game changes and evolves and CCP should not be held responsible for inactive players stuff as time and the game moves on without them.

Each and every one of us are responsible for the safety of our own assets not CCP, not Alliances, not Corps US just US!

POS are not safe, Outposts were not safe (they could change hands and you’ll be cut off from your stuff unless you were docked still and even then you could still lose everything trying to get it out) Citadels I assumed right from the start would not be safe.

I even go so far as to assume at some point in the future of eve that NPC stations may no longer be safe repository’s for my stuff.

I have stuff in NPC stations that are now in Pochven. In my assets window my stuff is still their safe and listed as “no gate access”. If I cared enough I could retrieve this stuff but I don’t, so until then its quite safe.

It used to be the case that there where NO stations to dock your supers at. Because the intention was that those ships have a serious drawback for the amount of power they bring to the field.

The ability to dock them at a player owned stations was CCP giving you the little finger. Obviously now you try to get the whole hand again by trying to get them completely save in an indestructible station.

If you have a “personal” Titan, log them out in space

You can still log off in space, just like the old days when you weren’t in a POS.

Don’t fly a Titan on your main. Keep it to alts and just have them sit in it if you need to be AFK from the game.

No one can get your titan if you are logged off at a safe.

FYI guys, those pixels are owned by CCP per the EULA. None of it is our stuff and since it’s not our stuff we can’t technically lose it but only try to be able to use it again - more precisely borrow it - for however long we stay logged in. Once we’re offline it’s actually property of CCP.

If you’ve ever “borrowed” anything of value in the game, like a Titan or Keepstar you’d understand. I’m guessing you have nothing of value.

You call internet pixels owned by a corporation “value” ?
No wonder you called that a “tragedy”, you seem to live in a dream world, Neo.

LOL. Maybe so, but I can post on my main.

Cheap
Ya got nothing else?
'kay, bye.

Well, it’s easy to assume that you have nothing of value. Therefore, you’re just not invested in the game.
