If you are one of those people, you are part of the problem. Local with hostiles does not force you to log of, it rather tells you to stop bearing and get into your combat ships. If you rather log off, you are part of the disease that makes EVE boring.

As was pointed out, any number of alts can be used to pump the votes.
The situation is certainly interesting, but this poll is not representational or valid, for many reasons, including its inclusion of LS/NS (as both NPC and Player) as the only other option.
CCP, however, hopefully is watching the real data.

Even if you use alts, the more characters vote, the harder it becomes to skew the vote and the more “legitimacy” (if you want to call it that anyway as it’s nothing but a meaningless opinion poll without any binding effects) the result holds. So far, 130 votes is anything but representative.

Local is a “magic” intel tool that has no place in a sandbox. It is a crutch for weaker players who maybe should be playing WoW.

Trying to force others into your play style… If you don’t want a local, there is a simple answer, move to a wormhole or just close your own local, problem solved.

Too many players know the game mechanics by heart so I think removing local would be a nice shake up. However, local alone is not enough. Change up d-scan and how players are scanned with probes at the same time. If you are gonna change one you need to change the other! As for how to change them…Good luck finding something everyone agrees on.
