There are a lot of things you can do to avoid a gank. That’s why red frog have a 99.9% success rate. What A LOT of people do is wait until it’s too late before they try and do anything, and that’s why they feel helpess.
Also, can you list the buffs to ganking in say the past 5 years?

Ironically, using structures with tethers can be seen as a minor buff although it also gives intel to anyone observing.

What good is the intel when it’s attached to a cheap, disposable structure? Even if you were to get rid of it, there’d be another one up before you finish the structure timer.
Players with security standing of -2.5 or lower ought to not be able to tether in order to evade Facpo. It’s just another bullet point on the list of things that are wrong with structures.
Security status is something that gankers should take into consideration depending on the type of ganking they are doing. Using tether to bypass this aspect of the game isn’t ideal as a whole.

I honestly can’t think of anything else that could be considered a buff to ganking. I was (occasionally) mining when they buffed the barges and remember the freighter buff (which some people stubbornly refuse to use)
Suicide ganking, as controversial as it may be, is still hilarious.
