Dujek Oneye for CSM19

I don’t think any groups would be unduly penalized by having fewer ansiblexes. The smaller groups would be affected less, and the bigger groups would have worse cross and intra-territory response times and further treks to fight. One of my most recent large fights was 23 jumps away through ansiblexes (+1 titan bridge) and 50 without. The enemy had a similar distance. I think there is a good chance we would use a lighter faster doctrine to travel to that fight, or pre-stage something or use a wormhole instead (which also limits the size of the fleet). Zarzakh would obviously matter, but with less versatile connection points, fighting near it, or with fleets with Init. or Frat. on either side matters way more than other fleets.

I think perhaps I was the most excited about pirate FW, but in the end, the introduction of clone swapping in NPC stations had by far the most effect on my style of play. I love staging different places, and I love having clones available. Lancers also changed a lot of my day-to-day, but they are mainly something to fear as a JF and don’t show up with great effect in PVP all that often.

I hope you will get the votes to make it unto the CSM this year. I think you deserve the opportunity as you show to not just look at null. You will be on my ballot.

I’m a bit biased since we live together, but if you think about it, being so impressed with how someone plays EVE that you move in with them is the ultimate endorsement! Actually the main thing was that Dujek has always been someone who’ll set aside the time to help someone else, like talking someone on the internet through having their whole life turned upside down, or figuring out who left their car window open when it’s raining. The EVE thing was kind of a bonus.

His excitement for the game is evident, especially for learning about any highly-specialized gameplay someone’s doing, regardless of what or where. He also does that “networking” thing people talk about all the time.

I always feel like something could be said about having a diverse community around us, but it feels wrong to take credit for something that should really just happen naturally.

Thanks! Obviously no area of EVE can exist as a standalone, and I do like doing stuff many places.

@Dujek_Oneye Do you support hiring (EVE Vanguard) Warclone Mercenaries as an attack/defense vector in Capsuleer conflicts? Like attacking/defending Planetary Infrastructure, Skyhooks/POCOs and Upwell Structures?

As a CSM would you try and pitch for CCP to make stack multi-split (splitting a stack of items into multiple stacks of same size in one go instead of just on split at a time) happen?

Yes, I think that would be great. It is one of the benefits of the EVE’s shared universe.

Stack multi-splitting sounds neat. I could see it being useful for handing out ships and refits for handout fleets (a great tradition in EVE). What would you use it for? It would be useful to have more examples. I keep a spreadsheet that I started last year of all the ideas and requests I get for the CSM (I have also forwarded some of the ideas to select CSM members last year), so I will be adding this.

There is already 3,5k+ behemoth thread on QoL requests to draw points for campaigns pitches from

Several are recurring throughout its course, with fitting from containers and stack multi-split included :pensive:

doesn’t mean all those are small things… small things the idea behind that was stuff that devs work on their own time outside of the office…

yeah I agree, we often get carried away in there and ask for whole new features entirely

I have spoken to former CSM members about things that have been asked for that turned out to be “big asks”, and some CCP people too. Turns out “unlimited bookmarks for everyone” and “ACL hangars” are just a bit bigger than people imagine.

O7 Dujek Oneye,

Last year I asked eight questions and then compiled the answers into a huge mega-thread. It was massive. With the exception of MILINT_ARC_Trooper, no one had a thread bigger than mine, to be fair MILINT_ARC_Troopers’ thread was so weighty and knowledgable it teetered on the edge of collapsing into its’ own core.

That catalogue of replies is now a time-capsule and encapsulated within are the hopes and disappointments that CSM 18 candidates considered worth speaking about during the year of EVE’s 20th anniversary.

The responses gave voters en masse an opportunity to test and compare each hopeful CSM 18 candidates commitment to their claims of being community oriented, knowledgable, responsive and representative of player values. Given that the CSM does not directly control any aspect of EVE’s development and that the successful candidates are those that can identify existing and future consequences, co-operate with other CSM members, and communicate issues -from a player perspective- to CCP staff one-to-one, I’ve formulated a set of questions designed to seperate the compressed ORE from the Long-Limb Roes in this years election race.

Year-on-year the Independent Representatives, Solo players with single accounts, Worm Holers, Triangle People, Semi-nomadic Role-Playing Sandbox Explorers, and Salvagers, have been organising and gaining traction against the self-secure Null-Bloc Empire Candidates and their vast hordes of leather-skinned, evil, flying-monkeys. More-and-more players are choosing to vote in members they believe can positively impact CCP’s approach to the game regardless of their in-game affiliations.

Exposure matters, who are you, what is your clue?
As was the process last year I will post each candidates reply in a super thread, first-in first-served.

This years questions:

  1. What ONE identifiable consequence requires CCP’s attention?

  2. What PROVABLE evidence can you supply to support your belief in this situation?

  3. What practical, and balanced change can be made to support a solution if any?

  4. What support do your observations have from other CSM candidates?

  5. How will you present your findings to CCP?

If you have already identified and spoken about a problem in your CSM candidacy bio at the top of this thread feel free to copy pasta that response where applicable. I’ll copy paste directly from your response to this post. Choose your goblet…. wisely.

Let the games begin, and may the odds ever be in your favour.

  1. I think the impact of the equinox and incentives to hold more space, not less, do more work, not less, and taking away both the fighting incentives and economic incentives of raiding goes here. I think the honourable mention is inflation, with the universe-wide tax break, and several faucets that are bigger than they should be.

  2. Given how new these issues are, the more MERs we see, the better evidence we will have. There certainly are some trends in the nearly 6m PLEX, c6/pochven/homefront faucets. That we are seeing huge moves and space redistribution for null blocs to take more space also supports this.

  3. If skyhooks are to promote fights, the raiding windows need to be long. They also need to be tied to activity in space, so people can’t set everything to Chinese timezone and be free from raiding. 12-hour windows with variation centered around the most active time for alliances could be a start. I also think we need it iterate slower, and not go from 24h windows to 1 every 3 days.

  4. I think more skyhook raiding has wide support from candidates, with some exceptions.

  5. I have enough of an academic background that I can write a concise paper explaining my thoughts. I don’t think I will necessarily start the work before potentially being elected, though.

I have played Eve with Dujek for many years and I believe he would make an excellent CSM candidate. If I had to pick one quality that stands out above all others it is his ability to immediately pick apart an idea and really make you justify your beliefs, whether this is your opinion on how new Eve mechanics will play out or your favorite pizza.

Dujek’s recent interviews:

Short:
Oct 6th - Official CCP interview (disclaimer: there’s a verbal typo :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:)

Longer:
Oct 7th - Interview with Kshal Aideron
Oct 8th - Interview on the Federation Front Line Report
Both channels also have more great interviews with other candidates you could go check out! Including in the same streams; they’re longer and more detailed than the CCP interview, but not 3 hours long. Not to mention both interviewers are also running for CSM so it’s a good way to get to know them a bit too!

He will also be in a group interview on Push to Talk on Saturday Oct 12th at 17:00.

Last year he almost made it and I will be doing my best to see him elected this year!
