Encounter Surveillance System Update

This is hilarious because the past 3-4 years were the ones where it was easiest to farm and krab which caused so many of EVE’s ecosystem problems that CCP is trying to fix.

Entire last year was filled with krabbing nerfs tbf.

When it fails, will you be adult enough to come back here and admit so, an let the lesson of it change and improve your thinking?

The Encounter Severance System update and Dynamic Bounty System will increase player vs player ship skirmish.
This is good.

Care to elaborate on this one?
Or is it good-old “this is a change therefore it is good”?

Love this critical analysis: clearly you should be working at CCP :stuck_out_tongue:

No It Won’t.

DBS: Will force people to spread out.

ESS: Will force people to group up.

If people spread out, they won’t defend the ESS because they can’t get numbers Result: No PvP.

if people group up, They will get ■■■■ bounties, so they won’t Rat at all.Result: No PvP.

Null sec isn’t about small scale PvP, only small gangs and roamers want that. and as someone in Null sec, Every time we form a fleet to fight you guys, you run the ■■■■ away anyway. you aren’t after “good fights” you’re after ganks, you want to ruin someone’s day without risk. You are as risk averse as everyone else. Null Sec is about Large Scale Warfare. and to perform large scale warfare reguarly where trillions of isk are lost in a single battle, we need to be able to generate Trillions of ISK to support it.

This will result in roamers/small gangs crying “but i can´t farm them, ccp nerf!!!11”.
Somehow i think more and more about CCP trying to feed small scale nerds with content which has horrific effects on a game in general.
edit: just an example: small scale are crying “we want to own structures that can defend themselves”, okay, then what stops larger groups to own same structures but in larger amounts?
I mean: small scale folks got to realize at some point, that they are not entiteled to every and all content in game, and the more they demand their playstyle catered, the further we are from sandbox game that EVE was supposed to be.
After all, it´s neither “we can roam/camp and farm kills” nor “look at my isk/hour” that brought EVE into Guinnes World Records: 6+ thousands “f1 monkeys” did it, thus providing EVE with at least some kind of advertisement. And CCP is about to nerf them. What an absolute shitshow.
edit2: language.

If you want your liquidity come to a good use, you may send it to me.

The funny part is that there’s so many things they could do to improve organic small gang content:

  • Make inties either nullified or instawarp but not both
  • Limit placement of Upwell structures so you can’t have twelve Astrahauses anchored on every stargate, can’t have Keepstars and JBs anchored on stargates, can’t have Keeps and Sotiyos and 12 Raitarus and fifty other things all on one grid somewhere, enabling an entire alliance’s worth of infrastructure all on the same grid so people are always safe
  • Nerf jump drives, bridges, JBs
  • Etc

All of these sorts of things would cause there to be more opportunities for small gangs to harass large groups, but no: we get this dumb ESS gimmick instead.

plays Rains of Castamere on repeat

You can make a ticket in support to pause your sub, if that helps you. You can resume it later. Used that trick for blackout, saved 40 days sub for later.

Seems a number of small things changed or got bugfixed on the current sisi version.

If you’re bubbled by an interdiction probe or HIC (cannot anchor bubbles on the gate grid), you still cannot take the gate unless you’re in a yacht or T3C with nullification, the ESS bubble also still doesn’t allow nullified ships to leave, which is good I think.

But initially you were able to glide into the ESS room when landing and activating the gate, why can you now be pointed on the outside while the gate warp is active? So roamers drop by, one of them moves in, and some stuff like a bifrost, stiletto and sabre dick around on the gate preventing anything fitted to survive ‘inside’ from even moving there.

DIC bubbles are obnoxious to remove on the gate grid. Since it’s some weird natural phenomenon place without warping around grid, you can have your fleet booshed off the second it lands, worst case the defending fleet is moved along with a bubble even.

Could be said that the defenders also have the option to park a cloaked DIC on the ESS gate, but having one character on permanent standby that’s a bit much to ask of the people living there. The ESS is a nice idea with the 5 minutes+ reship and engage oppurtunity, but with bubbles and forced land on beacon, there’s a much too real oppurtunity to just have no fight.

To summarize, it looks much easier to have no fight. Can’t blame if people call 5 minutes too little to form/organize either. Given you were to grind all day, enduring one steal a day would set you back to the original income, not sure I’d bother.

Biggest problem there is the disconnect between what players say they’ll do and what they actually do.

Does this affect NPC Null or just Sov Null?

It’s 3 hours till release. One steal a day puts you 50% behind on the entire ratting session - I can’t rat for much more than an hour anyway, that is like my limit for full attention activity, and unlike morons suggest, there is no ratting outside full attention, because ships just cost too much nowadays to leave them unattended.
Thus no, the steal is still OP. 5 minutes make blue steal impossible, and stopping steal very unlikely, and stealing sets you back to the point where I will just do an L4 instead.
ED: “setback to original income” would be around one steal in 9-10 days, provided 100% dynamic index.

Pretty much this. IDK who they think wants to rat for three hours at a time: I usually can’t stomach more than 2-3 ticks. Everyone in here crowing about how ratting is “low-effort” and “completely safe because intel channels” probably hasn’t ventured outside Empire space, I’d reckon. The only reason people “low-effort” / semi-AFK rat in Delve is because we have an SRP program for Myrmidons so that the loss is offset after one or two ratting ticks: people literally do not care if their ships explode. Without this player-run program, AFK ratting is totally untenable: you AFK or don’t pay attention to intel or local, you die. The new active ratter hunting meta (of course AFK cloaking hotdrop alts are everywhere too, but we’ll give people the benefit of the doubt and assume they’ll rat somewhere that doesn’t have hostiles in local) that’s emerged from the wide-orbit droneboat ratting meta is combat probing T3Ds-- they jump in and within 30 seconds they’ve probed you out and landed on you at zero no matter where you were orbiting. You can’t just happy-go-lucky your way to fun and profit trying to rat in nullsec. It’s not a thing.

I always like when you conflate “Goons” with “people”. You keep saying you get more flak than me. By that logic you are even less liked by the “people”.

I didn’t kill my playstyle. EvE is better than ever from my perspective. But if that terrible talking point originating from Meta Show is all I’m hearing from Goon linemembers when I am trying to contribute to a serious balance discussion that need to happen for a better EvE, that means your telEvEangelism has toxic effects to the game. TelEvEangelism can be both entertaining and harmful. Just because people watch/follow something on the media it doesn’t mean it’s a good deed.

I’ll leave you and other Goons to not liking me for pointing out the truths you don’t wanna hear.

I remember your proposal about a unit that deactivates active cyno, the reason was “it´s too low effort for a person to light a cyno”. How comes that it was not a low effort for you - that´s anyones guess.
People dont like you not because they are goons, but because you are in the absolute highest order of denial. People are supposed to do as you say and you are supposed to do as you please.
