I argued for cyno shutters because it was too low effort to light a cyno on your capital and wait to be saved. In a more drastic measure, CCP just took cynoes away from capitals and most other ships.
Turns out they were even more convinced than me about the problem I argued for. Guess who is on the right side of the history and who is still in denial?
CCP being CCP, nothing new. They are used to fix a bruise with an amputation.
I argued for cyno shutters because it was too low effort to light a cyno on your capital and wait to be saved.
And why you lighting a cyno, being undetected and invulnerable before that, unless you make some colossal misstake, is considered not_a_low_effort?
Am i automaticly biased because iÂŽm a goon? You had, arguably, the biggest anti-goon boner in history of EVE. Could it be a reason for you to stop and think twice âis what i am doing right or am i being just a hater?â. That didnÂŽt stop you from applying to CSM and pushing your ideas.
Iâm not conflating anything. Even the guys who agree with you most of the time donât like you. The guys who disagree with me still tend to like me. The fact that youâre unlikeable has nothing to do with anything weâve said on the Meta Show. Itâs just your personality, at least conveyed in writing.
You made your mark in this game whaling, stealing excavators, and the like. That playstyle is gone. You canât really argue that it isnât. 5 rorquals have died today. There was a day last week when it was only one. You guys were killing a dozen or more a day at the height of your playstyle. Hell, you killed like 50 in that locust fleet drop.
Itâs better than ever from my perspective, too, but part of that is because you arenât playing anymore.
You keep saying this but I have no idea what âterrible talking pointâ youâre talking about. That we donât think the ESS is going to create a lot of conflict, especially at the alliance level? I donât think it is. Not sure why thatâs a terrible talking point - itâs just my view and the view of a lot of other people.
To be fair, this game really does need to be re-coded from 0. Itâs what, 18 years old? And has had a birrion additions since it started? AND computing/processing and all that has jumped leaps and bounds ahead?
Like⊠to begin listing ALL of the things that could be and should be changed/redesigned⊠hang on, I think thatâll take me more words than the book I just put out.
Brisc you arenât helping anyone with your random unfounded likeability claims. As a reality check, almost no non-Goon I am interacting with likes you. Me stating that doesnât solve any game balance issue either.
My playstyle is non-consensual PvP in nullsec. I was killing stuff in null before deploying to Delve. And I will kill stuff in null after you are evicted from it. Canât wait for the ESSs, DBS and such. If I had time, Iâd already keep making my mark within the new and improved ecosystem. Iâll come back and do that when I can.
My playstyle wasnât trying to pick off ultra-careless farmers in a region with no check and balance for their exponentially growing capital farming. That was just the best thing I could have done at that broken phase of Eve. I always argued that many supers/titans farming bounties, that many Rorquals being multiboxed with near zero risk, was indicator of a broken situation. Those activities were too high reward for no effort, risk, or âgate of entryâ apart from having ships and assets. When I was stealing Excavators, I knew the ginormous amounts of money I was making was completely broken; because it was depending on too many completely careless Rorqual pilots crammed into a single region. I knew that it had to go. I was public with that knowledge even when I was running for CSM 14.
So I got elected, and made the case of people who agree with me with their votes. Most of the opinions I argued for are now found in CCPâs devblogs. They changed the game. It is better for it. Deal with it.
Oh so the Goon guys youâre hanging with are legit evidence for your claim, but the PL guys Iâm hanging with arenât for mine.
Some PvP emerges by both sides wanting it. Some PvP emerges by one side not wanting it. âYou consent to PvP the moment you undockâ is just a well-meaning slogan. When you think about it, thatâs not how the concept of consent works. I donât consent to being mugged the moment I leave my home, even though there is such a possibility. I donât consent to getting ganked when Iâm mining, even though there is such a possibility.
In your lack of a good response you took one last jab at me with a slogan, and the only thing that demonstrated was your nuance blindness to types of PvP in Eve.
Portraying me as an unlikeable sociopath always gave psychological relief to Goons who donât like to hear the truths Iâm voicing. As a cultural problem, you guys choose vilifying the person whose approach to Eve you donât like.
I donât think youâre a sociopath. Youâre just a long-winded uber nerd who canât shut up and has no sense of humor. And the more you deny it, the more obvious it is.
I play Eve and I argue Eve balance because Iâm passionate about itâs mechanical and ecosystemic depth. I donât do it for your validation.
All you want in Eve is validation, recognition, and to be liked. Thatâs all decent reasons to play Eve. Perhaps you lack all that elsewhere given your personal background. Except in exchange for recognition, you chose to participate in the koolaid production of an Eve community thatâs basically sculpted into a televangelist cult by its designers. They are using you to legitimize their cult. Youâve literally been hired after Hilmar talked to Mittens in Eve Vegas. And youâre OK with that as itâs the only way you can be relevant.
Everyone else who is on top of the Eve meta hates this cult-like interpretation of Eve you guys are subscribing to. Thatâs why, for the second time, the entire rest of the game is fighting against it. Thatâs why I dedicated my years fighting it. Even WWB1 emerged from by Goons creating their enemies themselves by their toxic culture. The bankers who funded the war were alienated Imperium members. So excuse me but who the f*** do you think you are to lecture me on who is liked by Eve players? At least get half the votes I got in a CSM election first. But yeah, they were purchased right lol. Drink that sweet koolaid.
When I focus on pointing at all this instead of your jokes on the Meta Show, you interpret that as a lack of humor. The only person I ever heard that from anyone is you. Iâm just not watching you to laugh at your mediocre jokes.
I agree I do write a lot. In contrast, you spend 15 hours in endlessly talking in all talk shows of Eve like we really need more of your far-from-intelligent perspective. Thatâs more than what I spend writing here and there each week. And you even projected THAT to Vily lol.
@MB_ThePhotographer I have âmyâ meta.
The âfewâ who bother to read the forums, we all have our own viewpoint.
Brisc gives me more (and better) info than Olmeca in the forums. I donât have to agree with him, just like I donât agree with many others who post. But he is at least as honest as the NDA allows. Thatâs all I can ask of any CSM member.
He surely does a goob job with those minutes. To the degree that I donât think his CSM spot and a community conduit role is a waste of space anymore.
I chose to do other stuff in CSM. I was honest in my campaign with my agenda, and advocating that in that room was a big enough job to do without giving people monthly updates (I did provide two bigger updates). I think the game is better for both his updates and my feedback.
Eve has always had large wars every couple years. Itâs a cycle. There just arenât enough people left for it to be anyone but Goons, Panfam, or Test whoâs getting the boot this time. To claim its because of some deep seeded* hatred for goons is silly. Love them or hate them(and Iâve personally never been the biggest fan of goons), if youâre honest with yourself, you acknowledge that theyâre an integral part of the game.
Come on dude. Stop saying youâre arguing balance âbecause everyone hates gonz.â
