Enough with the intel warning programs

One could also just switch Intel channels to IRC or Discord and scan out of game with better tool support if scraping chat logs was a breach of the EULA.

I personally think even if this software did exist then it doesn’t offer much advantage anyway.

People who generally get caught do so because they ignore intel, not because they didn’t get the intel. There is also plenty of destruction already happening, I don’t buy for 1 second that automated intel programs are having a noticeable effect on the amount of ships that die.

For the amount of effort it would take to think of and implement a solution, it’s in no way worth it I can guarantee.

Delayed mode for local unless the ship has a cyno fitted or in cargo.
That should fix the intel problem, the afk cloaker problem all at once.

That’s literally a botting program though. It even calls itself a botting program. That is 100% not EULA compatible. Still, I will pass it on to team security, thank you for your help.

Ok, passed this on to Team Security, thank you for helping out.

Is it just me or does anyone else see the irony of people in another thread clamoring for bringing back the watchlist and better player tracking - since removing the watchlist as good as “broke hisec wardecs” (their words, not mine) - and here people are clamoring for removing or delaying local?

As for the chance of that happening… it didn’t six years ago, even before the advent of wormholes, and I’d think there’d be even less chance for that to happen now, since there is already a place where you have to make do without local at all.

Not to make their point for them but they’re specifically saying ‘In Nullsec’, which is a different argument that ‘Everywhere’.

Even lowsec has cloaked bots on all the highsec entry points, so they can “scan” you and bring everyone from their incompetent coward corp / gang or whatnot to gank one boat.

Gank is not pvp it is WEWIN or pppppppppppppppppppppppppppppppppppppppppppppppppppppppppppppppppppppppppppppvp to make much good keyboards.

Okay guys so I went ahead and did a deep clean of this thread. This back and forth is ridiculous. Be respectful.

Move to wormhole space there is no near 2 there and u can still gank ratters in null sec win win

Thing is, even with NEAR2 I still see carriers getting ganked when the intel’s been warning them (if they’re even monitoring that channel) from 20-25 jumps out and every step of the way in. Audio warnings such as NEAR2 only work if you put in the effort to feed them AND monitor them yourself. When carriers and Rorquals get dropped it’s because they’re AFK or simply not paying attention.

I’ve learned my lesson the hard way. Several times. Pay attention to Local, mine aligned, rat aligned, be prepared to lose drones (as happens anyway) when you need to warp out in a hurry, and 9 times out of 10 your shiny ship will survive to rat/mine/haul another day.

Oh, and scan all local signatures down.

Not to mention is illegal in many countries. The European Union would sue CCP out of existence. They have already done it to Google, Microsoft, Yahoo and others with nice millions in out of court settlements.

I don’t seem to have issues finding a careless AFK ratter you just know where to look in your local area. If you’re hunting in a dead area or highly pressured area it’s going to be hard to find kills. I had good luck hunting Ratting VNI in fraternity space but it’s was the careless afk ratters that seemed to get caught. As often as I can catch one in my crusier I’d land in a site with wrecks or as the VNI is warping out with or without it’s drones. The ratters attentiveness to local and Intel is just big as a factor for the Ratting hunters as the ability to dscan down tackle and survive the rat agro plus the 600 dps a good VNI will put out. Plus I won’t dock up if you were 15 jumps away but if you pinged nextdoor on my in game Intel channel I’d be aligned and pulling drones before you got into system.
I also found that knowledge of the local area tilted the more in my favor. How you approach popular Ratting systems make a difference if you’re successful or not. If you’re traveling through a heavier series of systems you can bet your on Intel if you travel through a backdoor pipe you’re more likely to find ratters is sites.

The other thing that plays a factor is you zkillboard history. If I look you up and you have a long string of blops kills that information tends to shared as well. So active and engaged player bases using already accepted tools make hunting harder as well.

Defeats the purpose of having Infastructure in sov if you cant protect the operations in it. If you get rid of Intel, CCP will lose this game.

@Jin_taan hey buddy has this subject been talked about in any shape or form during the CSM submit ?
thx for your work m8

I was only available to participate in the summit for 2/4 day’s, but it wasn’t discussed in any meetings as we had no meetings which were adjacent to the topic of local intel at the time.

thanks for your reply
though i think the “botting topic” would have been the closest similar topic as chat log scraping are done by apps.
