EVE traditionally goes through a summer slump in july-aug, should start climbing out of it soon if the annual pattern holds. By how much, this time idk.
Long term, they obviously won’t result in short term growth. CCP has not stated or implied it would and quite frankly one would have to be mental to expect such a thing.
Except it’s a terrible false paraphrasing, being done by people who want to make the CCP devs sound crazy and like they don’t care.
So continuing it on is counter to the goal unless you just want to slander CCP.
Everyone has their own bias of course but to me 2007 was the height of EVE: Still feeling the influence of the “founding fathers” of CCP, not yet fcked over over by the “lets make EVE into Carebear Online” DEVS. Not yet thrown aside by CCP during the dark ages before Incarnage (2008-2011).
I must admit it was a lot better. Maybe EvE does need a classic.
It was “In those days spirits were brave, the stakes were high, men were real men, women were real women and small furry creatures from Alpha Centauri were real small furry creatures from Alpha Centauri.”
Back pedalling from what? I said it’s not representative and I’m still saying that.
CCPs quote you showed does not say that we should have to be on medication nor is that a reasonable paraphrase of what CCP said.
It’s a clear exaggeration designed to make CCP look bad.
Edit. Oh. And look who just deleted 90% of their post… And I’m the one back pedalling?
Oh no, a tiny downwards trend that also coincides with the launch of WoW Classic, one of the biggest draws in MMO’s right now, however could we have predicted this!
Note, I’m not saying CCP is right, I’m also not saying they are wrong. I’m just saying, you are being highly simplistic.
