No this is why people screaming about people posting with their mains and kill boards is pathetic, you either know what happened in the history of EvE or you dont.
Classic example of the toxic, I am a legend in my own mind, mentality that causes so many new and old players to rage quit leaving nothing but the all knowing all powerful, with visions of Eve godhood swirling in their massive brains, SEWER RATS!!!
One must realize that another posters intent is not always to actually learn anything. Nor do they actually care about the long term health of the game. They simply live in the self-centered short-term moment, and will blatantly lie to get what they want.
A short study of politics, and the flat-earth phenomenon, should be informative enough to realize that it is better to just ignore them, else you may get a cleverly crafted essay that clearly shows that “water is actually not wet, and never has been since the early industrial age”, or whatever else would help them deflect any unwanted changes to the game.
The thing is, I read things.
I just did not read anything close to what was affirmed here.
And something that you believe true but can’t explain/proof to other persons, is VERY likely wrong. What’s more, if you affirm that you know something is true but can’t show it is, you by definition don’t know it but want it.
Therefore, without any reasonable source to back your claim, it is
Clearly
Bullsh¡t.
What’s more is that now you rely on the stupid argument “it’s obvious” which actually must be read as “it’s made up”.
When Brisc was on the CSM, several discussions were made on the state of the game and some of the possible causes. I had noted a steep drop off in HS numbers and a very slight increase in NS numbers. Brisc rightly challenged where this was shown and I directed him to Dotlan and the indicated statistics over several years. People were not leaving HS for LS and NS, they were just disappearing. The debate then switched on why they were leaving the game. Several people listed WD mechanics ( at the time) and stale mission/exploration gameplay. Of course, several other players disagreed, but couldn’t offer any neutral evidence.
Obvious there is a multitude of reasons why the current player count is down. One, out of many, is the relative stagnation of certain “mundane” endeavors that many EVE players enjoy. While they don’t gather headlines, it kept a large pool of players entertained for as long as they felt they were getting their money’s worth. The HS PvE people just left a bit earlier than the NS crowd did.
For me personally, I’m looking for and betting on a HS nuking of NPC stations by invasion forces…this would keep me here but if not then I can’t see why I’d stick around…
I feel the pain. I am gearing up to get out myself. Meh, maybe when I retire, the game will still be here. I didn’t mind subbing for so many years. There was always hope. Frankly in todays world, I would rather go back to Star Fleet Battles where you could at least punch the person in the face for blowing up your ship! I never got an award for just showing up when I was a kid.
Everybody brags about their kills. I would rather brag about my losses and what it takes to kill me. That’s what’s missing in the game to me. The rush isn’t there anymore.
Edit; I stink at PVP now but sill try every now and then.
A lot of the information you are asking for is no longer accessible. You’d need to trawl through old CCP archives (which probably don’t exist) or old forum threads (which aren’t easy to find now - I’ve checked). 16 years of gaming history is almost unheard of, finding all the changes over those 16 years - probably impossible.
Missions (income) have been nerfed multiple times in the distant past (and more besides) - as someone else said, you either were here and know this or you weren’t - you can go look for the information because I don’t need to, I’ve been here is game.
I’ve taken the time to dig up information from the old forums in the past to support many points raised in this, and other current threads, only have the people who wanted to see such examples disappear from the threads until the topics come up again months later saying the same thing they were before.
Its probably better just to ignore them and hope CCP figures it out at some point.
