The sheer fact you believe every single project CCP has done is a failure is indicative of how wrong your entire post is.
And can be worst. Next expansion called “era of chaos” can be worst than invasion.
Will be interesting what say CSM this summit “Number are ok, CCP told us” if the CSM say that in a week, i not see future to Eve in six months.
Lack of content is not chaos.
The BO is the introduction of an existing feature applied to the wrong environment.
The BO switch cannot be unflipped.
Menacing with it released all of the game’s demons. Just like in Ghost Busters the classic.
The recurrent chat glitching is them trying to unflip the switch.
The Blackout’s negative effect is still hindered by contaminated data from SP diarrhea et al.
The cyno changes are coming.
And so is winter.
CCP has not much new blood bait for EVE this winter. No hype to grow this year.
The September Release is a click bait. Nothing is being “released”. It’s a facelift of a few minorities.
The misinformation is laughable. “numbers are dwn cause bots are dwn” VS “bots adapted quickly to BO” by CCP @ the first BO interview.
The faucet!.. THE FAUCET!! by CCP Rise. It wasn’t economics. The trend was already set and working.
Is there any better way to kill an MMO?
Maybe declaring “war” on everyone in the game and making them log off for a week wasn’t such a good idea after all?
Maybe increasing price tags by as much as 95 times as high as they should isn’t such a great idea either - the next one to ask for “proof”, get it yourself!
Maybe increasing the price tags of ships by 2.5 and reducing the insurance payout to 0.4 boat wasn’t such a great idea -who knows? (Oh but wait, I did)
How many boat do you buy with a 0.6 boat insurance that costs 0.25 boat?
In a PLAYER vs PLAYER game, having NPCs doing the killing with infinite ships, that never get tired, talk to you or can be reasoned a SERVER vs PLAYER wasn’t such a good idea, since it has a weird after-taste. But who would have seen this coming (I plea the 5th…)
Maybe introducing lobotomy stix and cheat stix for players with too many isk wasn’t such good idea.
Maybe artificially inrceasing the price tag of rigs for “the good of spam-a-dels” wasn’t such a good idea?
Maybe, just maybe if the server would allow the good humans to make isk in a way that allowed them their (and only their) play-style, humans would talk to humans (I know mind blowing stuff…) and EVE would feel vibrant without artificial killing everything machines.
Maybe, just maybe allowing capital ships to pve wasn’t such a great idea. Who would have ever guessed that. (Under advice of my counsel, I plea the 5th).
New Eden seems to have an identity crisis. Does EVE want to be an economy game or a sandbox for ship vs ship combat which doesn’t allow you to earn funds to buy said ships and so no ship combat is happening - man, humans are so much smart and have many foresight.
I demand a press release from CCP!
Wait, wat?.. ah yeah, we don’t have that privilege.
We, as customers can’t demand anything, we can’t demand quality on the product we are paying for and must come to a forum to which the peeps we are paying good money, don’t respond.
Any questions?, please sit @ TiS and wait for a new, newly staged interview. With Matterall shutting peeps whenever someone jumps the line.
I for one recon CCP should make the NPC post smack talk in local after killing a player would be funny
I think the drop in the number of players has a lot to do with the Bot-Fleets that are no longer running.
Sssooo… more than 20% of EVE was bots?.. And… why are numbers still in decline? or… why would CCP state that the bots adapted to BO? Why are the areas known to be bot free empty today?
When will everyone remove bots from the BO equation and accept it’s players what’s bleeding?
Don’t need to answer, just think about it for a moment.
That would not surprise me at all.
Actually bots don’t care. Once their operators have figured out a reasonable work-around its back to business as usual.
Now the players who only have one or two accounts, limited free time, and over a dozen other options they could chose for entertainment that don’t bludgeon them over the head with extra tedium and risk for no reasonable reward? Most of them aren’t gonna bother making an adjustment, instead they will just go to where the fun is… in another game. Which explains the player count numbers quite well.
Then it would be unique in the gaming industry, the consequence of neglect from EVE’s devs and admins, a problem so vast, that by itself would have chased players out without the need of the so called “chaos”.
What might surprise you tho, is how few they really are. Specially if you choose to finally accept the words of EVE’s authorities: “…bots have already adapted to BO”.
Ok, lets dance. All I said was it would not surprise me if 20% of eve players were bots. I cant prove it and you cannot prove me wrong"."
Something-something “EvE players are adults in their mid-thirties”
https://www.reddit.com/r/Eve/comments/d031pt/chaos_era_got_rid_of_the_bots_from_nullsec_and/
on the range of 8k accounts would be bots according to this.
Assuming a bot works 6h/day average, it leads to 8k/4 = 2k constantly connected accounts are actually bots. Just from those corporations.
Sure it’s not necessarily true.
It just give an idea of what is possible.
They’re still autistic krabs
Did EvE get invaded by Children?
Unless you have data to back this up, IMO this is unlikely. Anyone botting and running large multi-box operations has the game knowledge to simply shift operations elsewhere or work in a region/alliance with enough intel and gate-watching to continue operations.
The people most affected by any “remove safety features, increase uncertainty” type changes will be the small operators, the newer players who were told to go to null and rat in a VNI, the “herd followers” who went to Null because everyone else was and they just joined up and did whatever everyone else was doing because it was the easiest way to profit. The renters and hangers-on who aren’t directly supported by the major alliances will have trouble being active while the major alliances adjust their operations.
Those people will not have other ‘easy’ options, and they will most likely do something else while waiting for the ‘new normal’ to gel into something they can handle.
As usual, CCP has come up with a change that sounds good on the overview, but basically ends up hurting all the smaller players, slightly inconveniencing the major power blocs, and merely making a bump in the road (and yes, being fair, a noticeable drop in income) for the bots and multi-boxers.
Bots are unavoidable in the gaming industry. But their numbers have to be controlled to avoid a massive infestation that could “kill” a game.
Of course BO did affect them, that is undeniable but we heard that they’ve adapted, it didn’t came out of nowhere or appeared as a speculative argument. It was stated crystal!.
It doesn’t matter, bots numbers only matter now as excuse for downplaying what’s really going on with the average below 20k concurrency these days. If bots were an objective of BO, wasn’t there anything else to do but to negatively affect the whole game? No possible course of action? nothing remotely innovative as pest control?
Who in their right mind would light the fields on fire to kill a dozen cockroaches?
Any damage done to bots was collateral of BO consequences, not a primary objective of it’s introduction. The Blackout has little to do with bots.
First of all I said loss of active users, but not affected by it, there is difference imo, and it was not backed up by data, which is why I said I can’t help but think. But I don’t disagree with what you are saying in terms of the effect, I knew that it would be a catastrophe to smaller groups.
You are wrong. BO does not “negatively affect the whole game”.
It negatively affects your gameplay.
That I don’t know. IMO BO was to reduce the production from nullsec that is killing the game, and among it was the bots in NS that are killing the game. But I can’t affirm that my opinion is truth (I lack knowledge).
