Hello New Eden!
I’m always amazed coming back to EVE. I experience a turbulent excitement which tends to propel myself further into my current interests, upskilling myself, taking on new projects, and overall serves to inject some ambition back into my system.
Maybe it’s just the capitalistic dream being simulated at a faster pace, but it does scratch a certain itch!
I’ve been a busy little bee learning how to develop software and I’m so thankful that EVE does exist as it’s been a perfect outlet for this. (I’m sure this has been said before) I’m not sure what better games exist for a newbie developer outside of maybe OSRS.
Kudos to the lifers at CCP who have been keeping this ship moving forward. Seriously.
I just wanted to share a little bit of the stuff I have been working on over here, including my recent video focused on new players. (The video comes from the exercise of going through the new player experience again myself, and I think some veterans might find the information useful.)
However even if the information is not useful to you at all… I’m giving away 500 PLEX to channel subscribers as a thank you for the support and inspiration to keep cooking.
The exact giveaway details are in the video description.
My Recent Work:
So I’ve been back to the game for about 60 days, and I’ve always dabbled in content creation in the past… but never took it seriously. I decided to start making some EVE Online content and told myself, “If I get any sort of positive reception, I’ll keep making more because I actually WANT to play EVE”.
To my surprise it performed better than I expected, so I’ve taken it upon myself to start creating content and streaming as I inch closer to my start date for an IRL position.
I’m trying to balance this with my current efforts diving into ML/AI Software Dev… so I’ve been doing a bit of blending.
There are a few points of synergy and overlap that exist which are very exciting: I developed a discord bot, mocked up a website with AI graphics, hooked it up to a CRM, set up back-end payment processing etc. Basically I just wanted to prove to myself I could “launch” a SAAS application, the exercise was purely to understand the required technologies etc.
Well I’ve just started so you can understand my excited if you are reading this and have been here before lol.
It just all started to click in place for me. I think that coming back to EVE did that, just the organic creativity and need that spawns from playing gets me thinking of creative ways to solve problems.

Web-App Player Lookup Feature (with a lame implementation of AI):
I started messing with the SDE and generated a universe map that had tons of issues:
I’ve Improved my Youtube thumbnail game substantially:
My channel has grown immensely in contrast to previous engagement as well:
So it’s been great upskilling, being productive, and having fun these past two months.
It’s all because this is the best gaming community out there.
