In the last week, EVE Crews has moved from version 1.46.5 up to 1.60.1 1.60.2. The changes focus on overhauling major UI screens, rebalancing the economy and hull affinities, deepening the clandestine recruitment loops, and refining the event engine.
Here is a summary of the major changes deployed in the last 7 days:
1. Major UI & Interface Overhauls
- Decision Impact Panel (v1.60.0): A new “SITUATION ASSESSMENT” panel was added to the Comms tab. When you hover over event options, it provides a live stat preview showing projected changes to your ISK balance, Resilience, Morale, and Loyalty.
- Commissioning Screen Rebuild (v1.59.0 - v1.59.3): The startup grant screen received a massive visual and UX overhaul. It now features ghosted ship hull renders in the background, Federal Intelligence Officer (FIO) icons, criminal dog tags, corp watermarks, and dynamically generated “tinyman” rows to preview your initial crew manifest.
- Recruitment Hub Redesign (v1.49.0 - v1.51.2): The recruitment panel was split into four distinct, first-class source buttons (Standard, Naval, Press-Gang, Clandestine). It includes inline SVG source icons, a live active intake basket summary, and a 3-tier race filter cost model that accounts for your sovereign region and station faction.
- Crew & Bridge Tab Polish (v1.52.0 - v1.54.3): Department panels now collapse by default, showing a compact gauge strip with inline alerts (like LEADERLESS or MORGUE FULL). Furthermore, the Crew Rotation, Shore Leave, and Shuttle Ferry panels were reorganized to their contextually appropriate tabs.
2. Core Mechanics & Economic Rebalancing
-
Hull Affinity Rebalance (v1.58.0): The benefits for matching your XO’s preferred ship have been rescaled. Flying their native hull class now grants +2 XO Loyalty, flying their specific preferred ship grants +2 Officer Loyalty and +2 same-race Crew Morale, and adapted hulls now grant +1 Command Citation (CC) per session.
-
Economic Rebalance (v1.58.1): XO and Officer retention costs were significantly reduced for mid-game tiers (CR-3 through CR-5) to alleviate economic crunch. Simultaneously, Tactical Data Recorder (TDR) base payouts for Light and Moderate combat were increased.
-
Shuttle Passenger Capacity (v1.52.1): The passenger capacity of shuttles was increased from 20 to 100 to mechanically reflect the reclaimed internal volume of a capsuleer-piloted vessel.
3. Traits, Lineages & Underworld Systems
-
Trait & Cohort Ecology (v1.55.0 - v1.56.0): A new Authoritarian officer trait was introduced, alongside a new milestone event (
EVT_WEAK_RECOVERY) to organically rehabilitate officers with the Weak trait. Sustained commitment to a pirate faction for 10 consecutive sessions now yields specific mechanical rewards. -
Pirate Sympathy & Lineage Flags Wires (v1.50.0, v1.57.2): Previously narrative-only lineage flags are now live mechanics. The “Green Penalty” doubles casualty morale drops for Conscripts, Sansha True Slaves are immune to casualty morale drops, and Angel Enforcers suppress quiet mutinies. The UI now clearly surfaces these factions under an “OUTLAW PRESENCE” badge.
-
Recruitment Embargoes (v1.48.0): Standard conscript intake is now dynamically locked under high-pressure conditions: active Sansha Incursions, hostile standing (≤ -2.0), or a “Meat Grinder” reputation (when your morgue body count exceeds hull capacity), forcing commanders into the underworld channels.
4. Event Engine & Under-the-Hood Improvements
-
Event Pool-and-Select Engine (v1.47.0): The event trigger system was rewritten. Instead of picking the first eligible event on the list, the engine now gathers all eligible events into a pool and randomly selects one, preventing broad-trigger events from deterministically firing on every playthrough.
-
Event Tier System (v1.54.1): Events are now classified into ‘critical’, ‘milestone’, and ‘standard’ tiers. Critical events bypass pending caps and will dynamically re-queue if the underlying crisis is not resolved.
-
NPC Classification Overhaul (v1.58.2): The
esi-gamelog.jsparser was expanded with 53 explicitly named faction officers and mission bosses, plus Triglavian, Drifter, and Rogue Drone hull patterns, preventing prominent NPCs from being misclassified as PvP capsuleers. -
Commander’s Manual (v1.51.4): The in-game manual was rewritten into 8 comprehensive sections covering run modes, XO progression, and crew logistics, complete with UI iconography.
