Since this PATCH NOTES FOR 2025-06-16.1, performance has dropped significantly on my M2 Pro. The client feels laggy even with just one account logged in — I went from 60–80 FPS to around 10 FPS in high settings, and from 180 FPS to 13 FPS in low settings, without any clear reason for the drops.
I’ve tried different setting combinations, but nothing seems to help. I haven’t been able to identify what’s causing the massive slowdowns. One thing’s for sure: once the lag hits, the only solution is to close the game and hope for the best. But even then, it doesn’t take long before the client or multiple clients becomes laggy and almost unplayable again.
I already went through the last bug that lasted for months — really hoping we’re not heading into another long stretch of unplayable performance.
It’s getting frustrating to realize we can’t even play in low settings anymore, on machines that used to run the game smoothly in high. Especially when these problems often show up after a patch that’s supposed to fix graphical problems…
Update : Just switching to another program — like a browser — and coming back to the client causes a quick FPS spike to 180 plus, followed by a sudden drop to 20–30 FPS a few seconds later.
Could you put in a bug report from the machine where this happens. Feel free to tag me in it.
We can try to get a reproduction on our hardware. Right now, we don’t have enough information to go off.
Thanks!
I’ve already submitted a bug report and opened a support request with more details.
Request #2375760
However, I’m having a small issue, could you please confirm that I’m not the only one who can no longer save or export logs in Loglite, something I was able to do before ?
I will submit another bug report and, as you requested, I will tag you in it.
I’m considering upgrading from my MacBook Pro with an M1 Pro (16GB RAM) to a Mac Studio with the M4 Max chip — mainly for work, but I also play EVE Online quite a bit.
On the M1 Pro, the game runs okay — I play on reduced graphics settings, but even then I can comfortably run up to three clients at the same time without major issues.
I’ve seen reports here about performance problems on M4 chips after recent updates — FPS drops, instability, etc.
Has anything improved recently? Are these issues now resolved?
Would love to hear from anyone already using an M4 Max, especially with multi-client setups.
I haven’t seen any announcements on the subject, but since 2 days (maybe the OSX 15.6.1 update for me), the game mode has been launched for Eve Online.
