We’re trading cringy 70’s/80’s comedians, no one wins in this.
Butt out Duro.
This is a family matter, with “siblings” gently ribbing each other.
As you’re not English, Welsh, Scottish or Irish, you don’t get to join in.
Also, stop with the weaponised flagging.
My “interpretation” of EVE
EVE is at first a social game. Social interaction between space nerds.
The most fun you can get out of it is by meeting people and hanging out with them (while constructing and/or blowing up pixel stuff)
While nothing is safe and betrayal might be a constant threat - the vast majority of people are not this. They are just people. Just try it.
As for PvP:
yeah, same observations. Can be a huge time sink. Because everyone loves to blow up stuff, but nobody likes being blown up, there is some disparity in the game that leads to streaks of nothingness and frustration if you just want to go out and “do PvP”. Unless you REALLY invest time and learn to compete with the best. That does not work for casuals.
Alternative A: join a fleet, follow an experienced FC. Downside: also gets boring after a number of times unless you specialize on becoming an active part (as scout or the like)
Alternative B: change your perspective on PvP. Carebear vs hunter is also always PvP even if the carebear never gets a killmail. Becoming the unkillable carebear without sticking to highsec is also a cool goal. You need to be creative tough.
Makes you a bear, not a carebear.
So standstill is the answer even regarding to the player loss?
Because this is what you basically say…
All that leave must “not understand eve right” or “play the game wrong” or “eve is not for them(even if they are years in the game)”…so “we don’t need a change(at least it’s a makebelieve you use)”
Very snotty approach in my eyes…
So YOU do exactly what you accuse ME of…and even don’t realize it…
Well i did not start it but i will not end it before others stop it…if you scroll up the forum you will witness that i was annoyed by it MONTHS ago…all i do now is giving back a taste of the medicine others used on me…
The difference being that some of your posts that have been flagged are downright ■■■■■■■ offensive.
If you weren’t such an offensive and self centred twat with zero demonstrated understanding of the game, or of any concept that doesn’t follow the herd, you wouldn’t get flagged so often.
The answer is to appeal to the core type of player you actually want, dumbing everything down and making it more noob friendly isn’t the solution
Not even close, i said i would rather have the game die than become WoW
Again you’re not actually reading or understanding what i said, player loss is inevitable, but that doesn’t mean its down to the game not being carebear friendly, some people just get burnt out, i’ve been around since 2004, eventually you get bored, adding what the OP proposes isn;t going to bring me back, the same as its not going to bring back other PvP players who have left, all it will do is slowly replace the core players with people too afraid to leave high sec and that isn’t going to help the core game, getting in new blood is fine but it needs to be the right kind of player, EVE does not and should not appeal to everyone, but in todays climate of “inclusiveness” people incorrectly believe that they should always be included regardless of the cost
So no, we want the right sort of players not the wrong sort of game
Not even remotely, i accept the game as it is at its core, i’m not going to fight to have that core changed just because we don’t have 100,000 peak concurrent players, you’re chasing numbers thinking that high player counts matter when quality beats quantity in every single way that matters
If you are right in that please explain why 99% of my posts were reopened by the mods…
This fact does not fit into your accusation at all…
If this is the only existing player on the market the answer to this is a clear YES
Well the game is on a good way to grant you that whish than…
Maybe YOU would not come back but a lot of others and even new ones?
Maybe THIS is what CCP cares about?
And yes it’s insulting that a company who is supposed to make profit is not concerned about your "anti WOW feelings but about what the game needs in todays market.
Get used to it…
Except it isn’t, majority sure but its not the only type of player on the market, and that snever going to happen there will always be players who want an actual game
Thing is, i very much doubt that, players who left the game mostly left due to burnout, not because the game wasn’t holding their hands, they just got their fill of the game, making the game “safer” or trying to cater to the people with extreme fears of loss isn’t going to get the core players back, its going to do the reverse and drive more core players away, its very simple math
And they are making a profit, otherwise the game would have closed down already, you’re confusing “making money” with “making all of the money” which is more the area left to companies like EA, if they wanted to make all of the money they would just sell out and start selling gold ammo, premium ships, lootboxes and ways to directly pay to win, which is what EA would do with the game, which again isn’t what we want here nor should you ever be pushing for that
So yeah, in a game where the players are the core experience of the game there isn’t a need to mess around with trying to cater to the people with an attention span smaller than a gnats testicle
TBH if you think about it for a bit, Duro has never/likely will never say anything that really warrants any consideration from another person and treating him as if that were not the case (by responding) really only perpetuates his incessant derailments and pointless noisemaking.
But sometimes feeding the trolls can be fun, i mean i’m just sitting here playing Fire Emblem Three Houses so i could use a distraction
You mean the same behaviour some people show to me ?
And i’m to blame because i don’t follow the great wisdom of the bittervets that eve has not to be changed and rather should die than doing that?
It was clearly stated that they don’t care about the game but just about THE game, which means what THEY see how the game has to be and to be played.
How is this behaviour even a jota better of what you accuse me off…
There is no “discussion” with arguments beeing changed, this is just about spitting out statements.
“The other side” is so trapped in their certainity bubble that they wouldn’t even accept facts that are thrown out by CCP if they would support my point…
I really cannot see why you accuse ME and only ME…
Some, by definition, is not all.
This fact does not fit into your accusation at all…
You wouldn’t know a fact if it walked up to you wearing a florescent yellow t-shirt with I’m a fact emblazoned on it.
That’s a lie, 16 years of Eve is living proof that there are players that wish to play games that don’t conform to the lowest common denominator.
If you act like an ignoramus you tend to get treated like one.
lol
+1
Haven’t seen you around much for awhile, seems, @Ralph_King-Griffin .
Volunteering for ukip is really keeping you busy!
99% is not “all”
16 years mean NOTHING if the surroundings change…those 16 years may mean something to YOU but are totally irrelevant for a buisness decision…
1% is some.
16 years mean NOTHING if the surroundings change…those 16 years may mean something to YOU but are totally irrelevant for a buisness decision.
Are you claiming that there is no place in the current market for a game like Eve?
I’ll have you know I’m an ardent (if largely drunk) socialist.
Oh but of course, comrade!
