Eve is stuck in the past

Your taunting did not bother me in the past,is not in the present and will not in the future…

So simply stop the try…

I know i’m right regardless what you spit out…

And again…sry stop the shut up balos crap and the flagging will stop…

This is all i’m asking to stop it…if you cannot stop it maybe YOU are the problem not me…

I’ve been playing Eve for 16 years and can count the number of PVP engagements that I’ve willingly been in on one hand. I enjoy the industry side of eve, contributing to the economy. But I do so in a very PVE fashion. Many players, like myself, don’t have the time, interest, or possibly even the skill, to compete with most PVP players in combat situations.

When you can keep your arrogance in check AND hold yourself to the same standards that you hold others, I might consider it, until then…

Friend DuroBalos, have you listened to this recent interview with Hilmar (and ccp falcon and ccp goodfella)? It is a little long at 2 hours, but full of interesting things.

I would urge all EvE players interested in the direction EvE is going to hear it.

Suggested to “read between the lines” quite a bit rather than always focus on Hilmar’s actual words.

Hilmar talks, amongst many other things, about wanting to - somehow - improve the NPE but also more about wanting to make EvE a more “cruel” (his term) game.

So I do hope you’ll listen to this interview and ponder how Hilmar’s desired direction for eve interacts with your own often expressed desires.

Like you I prefer the industry side of Eve, I know that I can’t compete in a combat situation. What I do understand is that what they do is inherently intertwined with what I do.

I understand the mechanics they use and how they use them, to a certain extent I understand their mindset in that I share many of their views and count a few hisec PvP players amongst my friends and am a part of their forum community.

Some have called it brown nosing, which is fine, that’s their opinion.

I call it knowing my foe, that knowledge is valuable; if I can make some friends along the way that’s a bonus.

I use friends in that we banter, we have a laugh, we share a lot in common. They’ll still shoot me in the face and display my corpse on the mantle if they get the chance.

Why do we bother replying to Balos? He’s either a paid troll or has issues.

Yes, the thing that has changed is the game has gotten LESS brutal and unforgiving, not more. If the game started out as happy unicorn carebear land and got progressively more PvP oriented, you’d have a point. However, since the opposite is true, you’re wrong…as usual.

No…simply no…

CASUALS are leaving the game because the (you called it this way) “happy unicorn carebear land” does not go FAR ENOUGH for them…

For PVP nothing but slight unconviniences (war dec ect.) were changed so why SHOULD they leave?

No…

CASUALS leave the game because they are not protected enough like in any other game on the market and CCP has to react to this with even MORE casual and not less…

You might want to train reading comprehension to at least level 1.

There never was a happy unicorn carebear land in Eve, there’s always been other games for that; most of them are dead.

If you’re an example of a “casual” player then that is more than enough reason to keep the rest of them out; YOU make them look bad.

Well…EVE is loosing in big numbers and if -as i stated- PVP has no need to leave so WHO is leaving?

And why?

Please enlighten me…

Eve has always alienated a large portion of the market and has always lost a large number of players due to the nature of the game.

There is a reason for this, that you can’t accept that reason is your problem, not ours.

if -as i stated- PVP has no need to leave so WHO is leaving?

PvP players are leaving, so are PvE players. This has always been the case. More recently long term players are leaving, people that have played for years.

And why?

Because self important twonks with absolutely no idea what they’re talking about keep trying to kill Eve off; for not being the same as all the other games.

Please enlighten me…

The 3 wise men, the Dali Lama, and every deity humanity has ever conceived of couldn’t enlighten you.

You mean people that actually KNOW the market and dare to state what has to be done in opposite to the bittervets that just want to keep their status quo?

No, I mean people that insist that they know what everybody else wants, despite being told by everybody else that they don’t want it.

Many of us also play the games aimed at the more mainstream “casual” market; we come here for something a little different, not more of the same.

Go away Balos, your ramblings have no power here.

Oh please this!

We will even demolish Ballymena just to help

Market says Triglavian salvage is good for business.

Change is good for aquisition.

Stop trying to hold EvE back Duros. Your old PvP centric ways are useless now.

The future is comingTM

What if i say that those “everybodies” are just those few that answer here and actually have to loose their cozy neck in the woods they created for themselves…?

All those people don’t care about THE GAME,they just care about THEIR game…

And-naturally- they all repeat the same opinion ever and over again because if EVERYBODY says so it must be right…

Fact is those people are FAR from beeing the majority and what they say is completely irrelevant for the game they are not playing and rejecting…a game where evrybody can roam freely withoout beeing forced into pvp,a game that eve HAS to become in order to survive.

The tactics of those people are simple and easy to see through…PRETEND to be the majority and taunt everybody that says otherwise and actually HINDER every change to the better if this “better” affects us…

Again-…not what is best for the game bothers thoise people but what is best for THEM…

Well recently CCP has seen the light and changes THE GAME…more will have to come, even beside some gm’s say otherwise…Pearl Abyss will stop their nonsense…

Go back to WoW. EVE has survived for far longer than the average game because CCP has not been dumb enough to pander to people like you and abandon the game’s core identity as a PvP sandbox. The moment CCP allows pathetic PvE farmers to opt out of PvP because it would interfere with their farming efficiency is when EVE dies.

Spontaneous high sec stories might create meaningful content, or seriously epic arcs and installments that aren’t just mission grinds but are timetabled in episodes so that players progressing through them can take their time to enjoy the game without thinking they have to do the next set of quests, these could be new style quests and the old style is retained. These new style quests try and use all the new content and involve the player in the game group or solo with possible avenues to suit a person’s choice of preference and skills. A character has a limit on what they can complete based on their skills at the time to create a meaningful experience as the character advances as they age.

For meaningful PvP what do you think of a Challenge Arena or Simulation Arena? Where players can pitch themselves up against either other players in a randomised matchmaking system or a simulated fight against NPCs for either bets that players put on the pilot or a set amount (even if they lose), so the qinner gets a portion of the bet and the players win the payout odds. So fights don’t have to be uncontrolled blobs or small gang fights.

I’m sure most of the general new player audience doesn’t really care about the wider world and I think another idea is to let new players explore the PvE with little risk, so wormholes could spawn in starter systems that lead to ‘C0’ wormholes, that are completely fabricated and don’t have a system identifier, allowing new players an isolated environment that doesn’t alienate them from the game when they encounter the inevitable instablapper t3 destroyer jumping on a probe like a …svipul.

No this is only the moment when a gankers EVE dies…

Eve is FAR more than killing unarmed ships…

There is nothing to say against sanctioned(by both sides) pvp in whatever form it may exist…

I’m just against one group beeing able to force its playstyle onto everybody else with less or no consequences at all and with no safe haven existing for their “prey”…

I’m not anti pvp,not at all…i’m anti ganking and anti gatecamps…at least in high…
