station trading is PVP, avoiding a gank by code is PVP, out running hunters is PVP. PVP is not just combat.

PvP is player versus player. If you and I are competing to corner the market on Rifters in Jita 4-4, that’s player vs player, because it’s me (a player) competing with (vs) you (a player). PvE is player vs environment and PIE and PIP are player interacting with environment and player interacting with player, respectively. PvP falls under the PIP umbrella and PvE falls under the PIE umbrella. Combat is armed conflict between two or more players, falling under PIP and PvP.
If I jump into system and you dock up your mining barge, that is PvP. It’s me hunting you, and you ran. You’re safe - but I’m stopping you from mining, inflicting a loss (in terms of ISK/hr and possibly even fun/hr) on you.
