Just tested it out, and it works as long as the “Hide previews when EVE client is not active” setting is selected, without that the previews stay up even on a new desktop.

Thanks for your help. In step 4 the clients do indeed still open on my primary monitor, as I prefer… and it is only when starting EVE-O Preview that they move to the secondary monitor (where the thumbnails are, btw, once I log in… but before I log in they’re at the top left corner of my primary monitor).
So yes, per 4.4 I was going to send you the config file, but I noticed some of my X and Y coordinates on my alts were a bit off from my mains, so I went ahead and manually fixed that and then I saw what I think was causing this behavior:

In among my 9 toons on 3 accounts and their X / Y / W / H settings, there were these two lines with no names on them. I snipped the above out of the config file and saved, re-opened EVE-O Preview and now it leaves the clients on the primary monitor as I wish. So I’m not sure if I did something that caused those lines above to get added to the config file or not, but thanks to you directing me to the config file, I discovered them. ;D
So, in the end, all is well again and I can go back to enjoying EVE-O Preview as much as ever, except this time with all 9 of my thumbnail previews in exactly the same config, which is nice, too! ^___^
Is there a way to bind:
- modifier keys (like shift+F11)
- mouse buttons (I have 12 on my thumb)
- functions keys from 13 upwards (F13->F24, my mouse seems to be able to simulate those even if I don’t have them on my keyboard)
Working great so far with 4 accounts, but I’m having trouble finding unused keybinds for more accounts.

I’ve found that using EVE-O Preview in combination with Window Grid really helps to keep things organized across several accounts and monitors, one thing that might be nice is allowing a custom window title to be displayed in custom colour and anchored to desired location over window when Show Frame is off. A GUI menu for custom keybinds to make specified window active would be nice too.

Can Eve o be used with other programs instead of eve?
Is there any way to bind my mouse thumb buttons without rebinding them in windows?
I have 2 thumb buttons on my logitech mouse, in the logitech software they are set to ‘back/forward’. I actually use them as such while browsing. In other applications (for example EVE itself) they are recognized at MOUSE4 and MOUSE5. When i try to edit those into the JSON file the application won’t start though.
So for example:
“EVE - character1”: “MOUSE4+F1”,
will generate this in the log:
System.ArgumentException: Requested value ‘MOUSE4’ was not found.
Someone suggested using XBUTTON1 and 2, same problem. Back/Forward don’t work either.
Is there a name/alias for those mouse buttons I can enter? Or no possible at all?

It seems that binding of XButton1 and XButton2 depends on the mouse driver and does not always work (f.e. it doesn’t work for my mouse)
quick question is there a way to lower the FPS in the previews? =)
There is no such thing as “FPS” there. Approach used only mirrors unchanged graphic stream from EVE window to preview.
If you think that previews affect your GPU performance then try to decrease their transparency (ie make then non-transparent , via setting the Thumbnailr -> Opacity setting to the max). Transparency can eat some resources so turning it off might help.

It works the same as if you would specify “F1+F2”. I.e. not at all.
is there a way to move the windows once border is turned off and will they snap to the next window or have to be placed?
answered my question “right click window to select it” not sure about snapping
Move it using right mouse button.
Once released previiew window will snap to other windows if it is close enough to them (less than 1/10 of the preview size)

Superb, robust and very reliable application and also very well made. Good job.
Returning player having problems.
Eve-O always had the thumbnails animated and thats what made it strong.
No when I go to other clients the thumbnails freeze and only show a printscreen, no idea what is happening on that client untill I click it.
Have checked and unchecked everything, read the readme and still cant make it work.
Any ideas?
OS/GPU/drivers? Before and today?

As @Eryca_Clawyer said, deactivate the Minimize inactive clients option.
This is a Windows “feature” that minimized windows do not redraw its content. So no animated preview for them.
