Actually removing bounties from the game would encourage pvp, as the isk would come from taking the drops to market to make anything from doing missions. Hence more targets to catch and shoot. Like I said before though, it is only a theoretical solution, similar to your physics guy saying what if air resistance was removed before the apollo mission that dropped the hammer and feather. All those proposals stay in that realm until they are actually (hopefully never) tried in game. I just get tired of people saying things are messed up without realizing there are a few worst case scenarios that can play out. Have to admit though, they do make good constructive conversation starters, which was the main point.
The drops from PVP-generated wrecks or the drops from PVE-generated wrecks?
If the former, 50% of mods die in a fire, so eventually the mods are going to run out.
If the latter, most mission wrecks don’t have much of value in them. The random faction rat wreck and EDAI-containing drone domi wreck and implant-containing Dread Pirate Scarlet wreck aside. The most valuable drops from PVE mostly occur in WHs, nullsec officer rat wrecks, and DED site wrecks/structure cans, which is a whole other shebang.
why you dont fix your fail with the excavator drones on rorqual? this mining drones made this large amounts of scap only possible!
“Since then, the player population has swelled while botter numbers continue to decrease.”
BS.
Jita iv/iv is still 99% bots running the markets. This is all baloney.
CCP should have a full time employee on all three shifts, doing nothing but watching jita local and insta-banning players who input broadcast to the channel. The timing is uncanny.
here’s an example of a excel based chat-log analyser, quickly picking out a bot called John Naaris:

the time delta is exact down to miliseconds and you tell me you can’t find and eliminate this kind of behavior? Get real.
But … but… but … the broker changes were going to fix this …
Lol
I’m seriously disappointed by the redistribution of minerals. I have a hard enough time with my casual highsec mining to get enough of the right materials to build anything.
Once this change goes through, I won’t be able to build anything unless I go into low/nullsec space.
Prices for minerals will go up thus prices for ships will go up. I feel this is just going to cause the economy to worsen, raising the prices of everything again.
I’ve been playing Eve since 2015, have over 200m skill points on my character. I don’t play frequently enough or in long enough sessions to engage in the larger scale activities of corporations and alliances any more and was never a big fan of PvP, definitely wasn’t a fan of the random wardec on small corps with no space assets.
I’ve enjoyed some of the past changes, love the ships have been coming out, but I guess with this change, I’ll be doing more missions and salvaging for the materials.
I remember Eve
How great it WAS …
Then EGO came
And now we see
It presence here
Well the first Nerf to mining I could Handle and live with. This Change however will have me most likly leave the game and play something better. Thank you Eve Online and I will be canceling my 2 subs which is $220+1000cnd a year in plex is done. Great job CCP! I hope it hurts your pockets for making this change. They should be nerfing the Rorq’s as we know this is how they are able to generate this kind of Minerals with less players instead of the Rocks!
So CCP is supposed to ban someone based on 10 chat logs, when your first two logs there don’t match the pattern? Also that’s at best a spam bot, not a market bot.
And just because the bot is there doesn’t mean CCP can’t detect it. CCP often don’t instantly ban bots because they want to see where the money goes.
I abbreviated the trace. It’s thousands of lines long.
The file does not only time deltas but standard deviation, plots distributions etc.
Spam botting is botting last I looked.
I also have found (over and over) that you can buy items, and they magically reappear. Same sellers, done within a server tick.
If they want to get serious, they can start there.
This is a good game with a lot to offer… we just want a little more effort to catch the obvious stuff.
I have to agree. I have paid for Eve for over about 13 years now and only taken 3 breaks. This last break ended a couple weeks ago and I am finally up to speed with the current changes to Miners (Carebears, like me). It bothers me that Eve is trying to force me into PVP to ‘enjoy’ their game. I don’t like PVP. I like mining and resources. Just my thing. Why does Eve want to ruin my gameplay? At this moment I am stuck wondering if I now get mining barges to all the Drill sites and really plug into my new corp or give up and go back to something else because Eve has left me high and dry and not enjoying what I like to do.
Agree on HiSec. It has been ruined. Used to enjoy some quiet mining a decade ago in HiSec and making a little isk. No more.
So, I am a little late to the game, as I JUST saw this, but…
Come on, CCP… Why do you guys hate wormholes so damned much? Did they touch you in a bad place?
Sorry CCP, but what you are planing for the mining changes is f… bulls… . You being in Capital mining ships in the game, people paid massive real money to fly this ships with multiple characters. And now when you get the real money you skip the whole system. We see all what is happening, people stop playing and with this changes you plan now more people will give up this game, others will do more ratting to get there minerals from reprocessing, so the ISK in game will even more increase. CCP, you are destroying the game
I still don’t understand how this has done anything but make the game more expensive to play for players, further, a number of activities that kept me engaged in the game have been made so non-lucrative or impossible now I play a fraction as much as I did prior to this.
this whole redistribution is stupid. dumb as F*** ok. why dont you just delete all the belts and planets, scan anomalies everything just delete it make everyone go to low sec in fact just delete everthing there to and null sec except one solar system all the way out in the outer most rim of the galaxy and make all the planets there each its own single mineral like one will be tritium the other isogen, etc this way it breeds all the conflict you want. Dummies.
Don’t give them such ideas, they might implement them.
also the dev that said leave should be fucken fired
I’m guessing the healthy state of the game will be when replacing losses requires you to open your wallet and shell out $40-100 bucks. No thanks!
So here is a thought about why and how the game has consolidated so much wealth to so few… Buy orders for <-95% market value to then sell the same items with massive profits…
How about fix this issue and setup “CCP” region wide buy orders which are 60-85% of the last 30 or 60 day average seller price? This would be seen as a fair market within the game that contains billions of world based NPC’s - all potentially seeing an item available to obtain at a bargain. This would be the largest removal of isk to the few and provide a wider player base with reasonable income … which would flow onto buying the new ships that you have planned on getting blown up…
What I most enjoyed about the game over the last (fully subscribed) 15+ years, excluding the recent changes over the last few, has been the wide amount of options to do as you wish. If you want to play hardcore, then you can do it… If you want to play casual then it catered for that.
That WAS the beauty of Eve. I agree with several other posters, and see the push by CCP is to force players into PvP; Trig Invasion causing High Sec to become null and now the changes to resource distribution toward non-highsec areas. I suspect these changes will lead to only a limited style of hardcore play or mission grinding for module processing (so you will need to “fix” that next).
If you compare PvP in other games and genres, there is generally no loss of possessions. Here in EvE it is different. If that is a players desire, they can look for it (you have already provided more options for this recently).
If you are so concerned about the amount of wealth held by the few, then change the way they are able to receive it easily with minimal effort. That goes for loot drops from scan sites which seems to be extraordinary in some cases.
In business, once you lose a customer, it takes a lot to get them to return if ever. I will see how this pans out, but this is more and more likely to see me as a lost customer. Good work CCP…
That’s entirely the idea. CCP has embraced the model of harvesting money from a small number of addicted players, the skinner box model, now that new human users are declining in numbers, they need to increase the spend amount from the addicts.
