Sorry I’ll take the word of the developer who is actually in charge of these changes over some Devblog full of corporate buzzwords and vague claims obviously made by some clueless PR person.
So you are taking the word of one developer over another developer. So doesn’t that mean this entire devblog is full of lies and can’t be trusted then?
Again, please stop trying to derail the conversation, we’re talking about THIS update.
I don’t care if the text looks familiar, of course it is because it’s CCP writing it.
If CCP was specifically talking about Basic Minerals when referring to “Income” why didn’t they use that word even once in the entire dev blog?
Why are you assuming that CCP cannot talk about multiple and separate things across dev blogs?
They are the same thing. They likely don’t use the word mineral because there’s more to it than just minerals, but nevertheless the mineral redistribution is without a doubt part of this Resource Distribution change.
The term “Healthy State” of income can only mean there is some ratio of players that can and cannot purchase Omega time, via in-game mechanics, within the span of Omega activation (30 days). Saying that income is higher than it should be means you think you are not making enough real world money; players are purchasing too much in-game time with in-game currency. You say loss should have meaning and veteran players no longer experience this - your entire business model is based on humans putting cash into your fake economy to compensate for loss; where loss is losing implants, ships destroyed, poor mining availability, bad market deals, mistakes, etc. This whole game is based on waiting for time to pass so the player can experience some limited form of achievement, before you slap down new, pre-calculated changes that very poorly hide how you are decreasing the average player’s ISK/hour. In fact, the saddest thing you can do while playing EVE Online is calculate how much time you have to spend mining, researching, copying, running, searching, targeting, shooting, salvaging, playing some stupid minigame, approaching, scanning, and just plain sitting there so you can buy more in-game time to mine, research, copy, run… All you did, CCP, was add a few more lines of logic to my spreadsheets.
Unrelated: You would think that, with all the maths and work CCP has done to move away from the original Python-dumpster-fire this game was, they also would have finally fixed global cool-down inaccuracies when I toggle modules. It’s still broken, and you’ll never convince me otherwise.
So then how do you know “Income” refers specifically to Basic Minerals?
You keep saying “you’d know if you read it”. So point to me, exactly where in the devblog they’re referring Basic Minerals. Give me an actual quote that I can read from the blog.
So, yes, seeing as he is the lead on this aspect of development I will take his word over everyone else…
And of course you can’t really trust anything CCP claims in their official blogs and releases. At the very least they have shown time and time again they can’t be trusted to anticipate the long term effects of changes they make.
That’s why I said ‘At the moment.’ Infact in that same comment I also stated:
Whether they extend that to other resources like salvage, moon good, etc. we’ll have to see, but for now we know for sure they’re targeting basic minerals.
If I say “I’m going to the shop " it implies ATM.
What “ATM” emphasizes is that this may be different later, so if I say"going to the shop ATM”, it implies I may do something else later.
