Well being a lowly newbie Alpha, I don’t think people would get much from me! I’d rather get an answer to my question.
whatever re-architecturing they’re doing to support macos is going to make linux port easier. making your graphics engine support second low level graphics api means it’s much easier to make it support a third low level api. using translation layers like moltenvk is going to be performance and maintenance headache and metal being more convenient api to use means they can be finished faster. i would also bet macos users are payuing more for the game compared to linux users, so there’s another factor in the equation.
I also cannot login, my account has just been registered for about a month, is it data problem?
I’m looking forward to exprience the native mac client.
I don’t believe any outage last night was due to the upcoming test. I’m not aware of it, so it was probably unrelated.
Good morning. It has not been deployed yet - that will be today. I will update this thread and unlock the feedback threads once it is live
Brilliant, thanks. I guess we are in different timezones, and I’m just too eager
Hi everyone,
Do you select “Run game clients with DirexctX9” and “Run EVE with Loglite”?
I’m not very sure about that.
My MacBook is MBA with M1.
The test client has been deployed. As long as you’re running the latest launcher, you should be able to select Singularity, patch and join in now
Please try to keep feedback in the correct threads where possible - it will really help us make sure we don’t miss anything
I have a quick question. To avoid issues, I use a windows partition to play EVE. Now I wanna test this native Mac client. Is there any way to avoid downloading the Tranquillity Wine client? (I’m talking about even the basic 2.5Gb).
Hey,
can’t Login in Test Server
Download is finished says always username / password not correct
thx

Avaria Kamakuza and Otikka Muutaras: Unfortunately your accounts are too new and do not exist yet on Singularity.
Unfortunately I am not aware of any way to avoid downloading the Wine client for TQ.
Wine will get downloaded like normal for TQ as we’ve not made any changes there.
any Solution? how i can login in Test System?
thx
my account is from 2008 and i still can’t join. any ideas why?
Light from bright source, such as central star, causes intense flickering. Also, objects seem to have a matte finish, with ships and rocks looking dull. Maybe by design, but definitely different from the Windows version. So far, seems stable, though.
Will do some further testing after work time but so far it works well. Logging in worked and did some ship spinning.
Upon closing the client though I couldnt click anything in the menu asking me “Are you sure?” so I just hit esc. Then the client closed and MacOS gave me a message that the client had closed unexpectedly.
Hi
This is great feedback, but please file a bug report from inside the client. Details in the article: https://www.eveonline.com/news/view/native-mac-client-playtest
Currently, we don’t know what OS version you have, CPU, GPU, client settings, and so on. This makes it almost impossible for us to be able to reproduce, which we really want to do!
I can confirm that your account exists on Singularity. If you changed your password recently, then it would be good to try your old password.
Unfortunately we are not able to assist with changing the password.
