Generated a new portrait for myself with one of the most rarely used backgrounds in the game. It’s my birthday, so I wanted something special! I usually take a shot of Meridan head on and quite close in, but in this case I’m happy with how the half-profile and distance turned out. The spikes on the Sansha suit stick out nicely on that backdrop.

Did you check out the new background from the Federation Day crate? I think it would look brilliant on that picture.
Here’s mine, I wanted it took look like a grab from a security cam or something, hence the bricks in the background and deep shadows. I am a pirate after all.

Im pretty sure Meridan has me ignored…but anyway.
Thats the same background i used back when i first made( remade ) this accounts avatar. Ive never changed it since day one.
Its a pretty nice neutral color that would match anything that your character may be wearing. Ive never gotten an urge to remake her at all. Nobody can resist my sly expression. <3
I saw them, but I didn’t know they were in that Federation Day crate, which I haven’t opened yet. I do like that new Gallente background, and I will try it when I get it.
EDIT: this background is way too popular right now, for me to use it.

Maybe she’s had surgery on her neck bones, some kind of owl-neck cyborg implant.
ive tried quite hard to get this one to look decent, imo i think it turned out decently well, not relaly sure what i can do to improve it. The inner mask poking thru the outer one is a bit annoying, but i cant seem to get rid of it.
this one is one of my alts, i actually like this one the most honestly.
this one im not too sure on, i think i need to adjust the lighting and pose a bit.

Nice variation in apparel too.
I like it. The color around the eyes and the mask lights match the colors on the background. That’s what I notice, and it looks good.

I think shadows are a bit too harsh for her face.
I’ll add a bit of insight on character portrait backgrounds. I am about to wrap up my research into the characters players have created in this game, and I thought I’d post the top most commonly used character portrait backgrounds, and the ones most rarely used.
In no particular order these 6 backgrounds are by far the most commonly used ones across the races:
EDIT: I should mention that I didn’t take main racial backgrounds into count on this one. A couple of those might be in top 6, but it is to be expected, seeing as a lot of players like to display their allegiances in the game whether for RP purposes or something else.

This last one (black with horizontal bands) is in top 3 rarest, if not the rarest used. I hardly ever saw it as I was going through different characters.

Been a while since I posted a tip on creating a character portrait…
Crimson Harvest Event is about to start so I decided to once again update / redo my old classic ‘Demon DMC’ portrait…
The original ‘Demon DMC’ portrait was created for the 2014 Halloween Portrait Contest in the first ‘Like And Get Likes’ Forum Thread… 20 contestants submitted Halloween portraits of their characters which were then judged by CCP Dev’s.. My portrait placed 3rd in the contest…
In October 2022, I decided to update / redo my ‘Demon DMC’ Halloween portrait and even though it turned out fairly well, to me it just didn’t seem quite right…
Well, here it is October 2026 and I’m doing another update / redo of my classic ‘Demon DMC’ Halloween portrait… This time I decided to use a completely different background with a darkened shadowed light effect for the portrait… I think it turned out pretty well and yes, I’m still not completely happy with it but overall I think it’s heading in the right direction…
And my tip is this: Instead of doing your usual portrait style, step out of your comfort zone and don’t be afraid to try out completely different things when creating a portrait…
Anyway, now it’s time to fear, cuz Demon DMC is here…

Nice new suit!
A lighter background may give more contrast with your ponytail though.
(Which might be a good option once FC finally fixes the portraits to actually show the full portrait again…)
