EVE will always be a nichè Game

The chart you linked is an older chart, and is demonstrating the unique player to alt ratio of eve. This chart is demonstrating how 65% Of the player base only uses one account. As i said, The last few chart posted by ccp had the alts upwards of 40% of all accounts logged in as alts.

This means that if we just run off that 35-40% of population evens real unique players are far lower then most people are aware of.

No, The chart is showing the unique player to alt ratio. Look at bottom # of accounts.

Also if the population is 30,000 online, and we know 60-65% (or what ever) is only one one account we know exactly how many are alts either way.

In the end eve is full of alts, and anyone with intelligence can recognize that as the fly through high sec or null and see

acid 1
acid 2
acid 3
acid 4

and so on.

Link them then.

i made this space game
with code and stuff

its so cute …
look there is even a little asteroid and a little sand planet that i like to call Arrakis
as much as i like my game i think EVE is way better

im showing you this just to tell you from a fellow game developer to another that you are full of ■■■■

What is the difference between a developer, and a designer?

i dont know
im a noob
i suppose i am both?

lord british from ultima used to say that people that don’t know how to code or to make art become game designers

That has no bearing on what I said, which is that according to the chart, 60% of all accounts are alts, and that we can’t use the chart to extrapolate the alt ratio of the logged-in population from that chart (unless that chart was made specifically to show that, and it wasn’t).

Btw, I definitely know how to code and before i started doing that i had an modeling degree. Definitely not the case here.

In my last corp a few months ago before i took a break (because of corp implosion) i was making a game like eve

the designer have the idea of the game and think how all the systems will work , maybe the lore (if any) , he can be the developer , like coding and making the art , but he can also hire coders , artists , music people etc to execute his design

im a hobbyist i made some slot games and card games to IOS/android just to learn to code

good luck with your game

im not interested in this kind of games at all but sauce for science :stuck_out_tongue:

It isn’t. Nothing I say about a shameless liar like you is a compliment.

coming from the liar who fabricates metric data to make his game seem alive…

I’m not sure why you think your delusional accusations that I’m CEO of CCP are supposed to be an insult when EVE is far more successful than anything you’ve ever made. If “my” game is failing so badly what does it say about all of your shovelware F2P trash?

Just thought I’d leave this here.

A designer comes up with high-level ideas (“Let’s add a new faction that’s a Caldari/Minmatar hybrid”).

A developer refines ideas into a finished product (coding, balance tuning, etc).

Noori makes shovelware “games”, lies on the internet, and abuses the flagging system to cover up the truth.

Hopefully that should provide some clarity on these roles.

No, Balance is generally done by system designers (like me!

-_-

No. Here is an intro-level piece that might offer some clarity to you, as an amateur with an interest in the field: Game Designer vs Game Developer: What's the Difference?

Actually, this is not the case. It depends on the entity you work for so trying to make a broad statement for everyone in the industry is non-sensical.

We designers do code, and depending on the type some do often. (and that is much more common with smaller teams)

It really is. Did you bother to read the article I gave you?

(and that is much more common with smaller teams)

And here’s the key point: small teams. Obviously if you’re a single person making shovelware games as a side project (like you are) you will have to fill both roles. But that doesn’t change the fact that they are separate roles.

What’s hilarious here is that, by saying that you don’t have a large enough team to have specialization between designers and developers, you are openly admitting that your “EVE killer” is nothing but a fraud. You’re such a clueless fraud that you don’t even know the right things to say!

For some reason I don’t think a game based on homoerotic anthropomorphic animal porn would “kill EVE”. Can’t quite articulate why at the moment. Let’s just call it woman’s intuition.
