For the past 2 weekends my corp has been running 1 v 1 tournaments and having a really good time of it. You can read the results of those tournaments in this thread.
I’d like for our pilots to gain even more experience in PVP, and to see good fit examples and to have a good time. To this end I would like to schedule a 1 v 1 single elimination t1 battlecruiser tournament on Sunday October 1st at 1800 eve time. If you would like to attend, please send me an in game mail!
The tourney will be taking place in the form of duals which will occur in high-sec space.
Rules:
Only t1 battlecruisers with t1 or meta 1-4 modules.
No warping off during the duals
Single Elimination with the fighting stopping when one side dies
May not travel further than 300km from the center of the tournament map.
Duals will take place at a high sec market hub. The exact hub will be told to you through mail the day of the tournament.
Duals cannot last longer than 15 minutes each. At the 15 min mark, if both ships are alive, the ship with the highest % of combined shield/armor/hull will be proclaimed winner.
Dualists will initiate duals at the trade up station, and then warp to a to be determined planet at any distance to begin the fight.
Dual results will be posted in this discord which I created for this purpose: Discord
EDIT: Only 1 repper will be permitted*** (Added this rule due to feedback)
No drugs or implants.
I hope we can have a lot of fun and gain a lot of experience in pvp! Please tell your friend, and if you think you would like to attend, send me an in game mail asap so that I can build out the brackets.
Thank you for reading and I hope to see you there!
Not even a DCU II allowed? That’s just weird and you’re going to get weird fits. That seems antithetical to your goal of „good fits“.
Few are gonna wanna haul their BC 20+ jumps to make it there. Few want to pay Rens prices or gamble on Rens availability (especially meta modules). This does not make it sound appealing. It comes across as a naive way to try to avoid gankers. And in the process inconvenience everybody.
Sincere question: why are you not using bookmarks in ACLd folders instead? Are POCOs supposed to be a part of the arena?
Also if the previous steps were to avoid gankers, this step undoes all that.
Are you looking for the best nanofibered sniping battlecruiser? Because that’s about all these rules reward. Not exactly high quality PvP experience.
I hope your event is successful. But a lot of the rules and design are unappealing.

The problem with this is that nobody looks at this section of the forum. You’ve kinda buried the thread. This event is intended to attract new players to gain experience in pvp in a safe area, and you made sure they will never see it.
A good fit is about the modules and how well they interact with each other and how well they work for the task at hand.
A named DCU isn’t somehow “bad” because it’s not T2, that hilarious dumb thinking. For quite a few fits that are “optimised” you even use a named DCU due to cpu limitations, it’s fairly normal in fact. And in THIS case it doesn’t matter AT ALL because all participants are limited to it, so it doesn’t change anything.
When your goal is for „good fits“, excluding T2 means not having realistic PG and CPU demands. And therefore not having realistic hull performance. And therefore not having realistic PvP experience.
You can try to pretend I’m some sort of „hurr durr T2 dumbass“ but the PG and CPU demands literally are what drive blinging vs meta module decisions when preparing a fit, and that is a core part of PvP planning. It’s a learned skill what to meta module and what to keep at T2.
You’re normally rational, but here you’re just being dumb.
Good question. I’d say no just to keep things simple, and again to keep new players in mind.
This is all about providing a good experience for new players to get their feet wet in pvp. That being said, veterans are also welcome to show the noobs how it’s done
They can already participate. You mean „win“. I think your intentions are good but the execution is not how I’d teach a rookie (I am currently mentoring one).
They already have a huge disadvantage not having Battlecruiser V which is a massive time sink and massive 5% bonus.
Now when they lose they learn from unrealistic fits found nowhere else in Eve.
Again. Run it the way you want. My criticisms are just that. You don’t have to change. I just wanted to voice them. I’m not gonna reply anymore. Even if Aisha takes a bat to my knees.
