This is a tournament. That means there’s rules everyone must adhere to thus it doesn’t MATTER. They could have the rule of “everyone must be in an Ibis with a civilian missile launcher” and it would still be fine because it applies to everyone. Beyond that, per the OP’s words, this is to “our pilots to gain even more experience in PVP”, so they take into account low SP and making it an even playing field. They could have a rule about it all needing to be meta 0 T1 and it wouldn’t change a thing.
When it comes to fitting then depending on the ship, even with max skills, you sometimes have to make choices and sacrifices and sometimes that means using a named DCU. Not really an issue when most of one’s solo stuff is killing Herons in a Loki but in actual pvp it does sometimes happen.
I participated in a similar tournament once and only once. One of the spectre fleet dudes organized a frig 1v1 tourney with a simple rule set, from what i remember the only rule was 15k max engagement range to eliminate kiters. The winner ended up being a brick autocannon punisher, the dude had dual cap boosters in the mids to power his reactive tank and rep. Totally detached from reality but extremely effective in that one setting. No frig could break his tank before dying from his 15 dps.
Im not posting this to deter potential participants but to encourage them to abandon conventional tactics.
Do you guys have any ideas for good arena-like locations to host the tournament? I wish there was a location with walls to limit the distance the duelists can travel

Hi again @ISD_Traindriver this tournament appears to have been moved again to the Events page, and thus nobody is seeing or replyign to it. Could I ask it to be moved back?
