The event reward claiming system is bad, but it was kind of just an annoyance when there was only EVE involved. Now we have tasks in Vanguard, and the design of reward claiming system just became worse.
You know when you complete an event task, if you don’t manually click “Claim”, any further progression for that task is wasted? Well, we have tasks in Vanguard now - “Complete 5 assignments“.
So what you need to do is:
Open Vanguard
Complete 5 assignments
Open EVE
Click “Claim” for the completed event task
Get back to Vanguard to do more assignments
Why isn’t claiming implemented as automatic the moment you complete an event task is beyond me.
That’s the feature, not a bug. They want you to mess up and drag the slog out more. It kind of gives you an insight into the mental state of the people who run this game.
As Vanguard is still being built and in (pre) alpha stage I can imagine the tech to share an event progressbar with EVE that both games can complete was no yet a priority. And that they went with the easiest solution for now:
Vanguard can keep track of how many assignments have been completed while EVE’s existing event tracker can call metrics from both EVE and Vanguard to see if tasks are eligible for completion.
What I am disappointed with is that even though EVE’s event tracker has been around for years now it’s a recurring complaint that tasks don’t automatically complete, so that further progression is wasted until players manually click that button.
Apathy that leads to negativity is malice. Incompetency requires a level of ignorance. They are not ignorant. They know exactly what’s going on and choose to leave it as a nuisance. No more excuses for these people. At this point it is malicious and intentional.
