Jita 4-4 currently lacks a Clone Bay, which is odd for such a major station. A simple QoL fix: add Clone Bays to all stations—or at least Jita 4-4—and have the System Cost Index adjust clone prices.
For example, with Jita’s 14% index, installing a clone would cost base price +14%. This keeps it realistic: more convenience for a bit more ISK.
As a side note system cost indexes should probably be merged so all activities use a single value Peace.
Hello Aiko I don’t care either way but I’m just curious. Why isn’t a clone bay ever going to be put in 4-4? Would it badly disturb something in the game or is it just CCP’s final arbitrary decision? I don’t understand. Thanks
If a clone bay were in the same structure housing industry and trade, it would make the game too easy for carebears who never undock. That is why the clone bay is intentionally not in that structure, and never will be.
Thank you! I understand now and now I agree, Jita 4-4 doesn’t need a clone bay. Don’t know exactly who those “carebears” are but, by golly, they need to undock just like the rest of us.
It’s not a ‘secret’….its a method many use. It’s how I got all my ships from Dihra back to Jita 4-4 ( 45 jumps or so ) only having to jump one way for each ship. It just requires a little bit of lateral thinking.
Not every station has a clone bay, that’s a simple fact.
The station players chose years ago to be a trade hub didn’t have one installed, so therefore there’s no clone bay. There is one in the other 4-4 station in Jita, however, so it’s a 3s pod warp to get to the trade hub.
Players should be able to influence station services. Either fund services with ISK, or more simply, give all stations a Clone Bay and scale service costs by system cost index (e.g., jump clones cost 900k × index).
