Todays extended downtime is running a little behind schedule and will be further extended past the announced 60 minutes as we work on a couple of issues that need to be resolved.

12:00 UTC - TQ IS OFFLINE FOR A REBOOT WHILE WE FAULTFIND A COUPLE OF ISSUES.
12:15 UTC - TQ IS CURRENT STARTING UP AND WILL BE PLACED IN VIP MODE.
12:20 UTC - TQ IS NOW OUT OF VIP MODE AND ACCEPTING CONNECTIONS.
12:30 UTC - TQ IS NOW HEALTHY AND READY FOR SPACESHIPS!
No Chats at all. Currently running verify and clearing Cache, etc.
Edit: Did not help, Cluster is shutting down.

Well, that escalated beyond imagination. 
I have to give credit to CCP, i have not laughed this much in ages, my eyes are actually watering, i hope we get an ingame item to mark this occasion similar to the boots.ini lol

Why would not having a chat window be a problem in a big MMO game? :)) maybe they will turn Eve in a single player game in the end :)))
Personally i think signalling lights on our ships would work better
