Hello Bataav, thanks for posting… I’ll try to answer your questions as best as I can..
Unfortunately some missions in the arc can only be completed by destroying a structure… Also The Syndicate only has positive Faction standings with Angel Cartel and Serpentis… You could gain derived positive Faction standings by completing regular missions plus Storyline for them but that would take a long time and also mess up your other Faction standings…
Completing missions for Angel and Serpentis Cosmos Agents is a faster yet very limited way to gain derived positive Faction standings with The Syndicate… Again there’s the issue of messing up your other Faction standings to consider as well…
Those Cosmos Agents are located in Null Sec space.
There are also 5 Angel Cosmos Agents located in the High Sec Caldari (3 agents), Gallente (1 agent) and Minmatar (1 agent) Cosmos Constellations…
So besides completing the Gallente Level 4 Epic Arc for The Syndicate every 90 days, the only other way to gain positive Faction standings with The Syndicate is to complete regular missions plus Storyline…
According to my notes on standing hits from running the Gallente Level 4 Epic Arc, I incurred a total of 21 negative Faction standing hits towards ‘The Syndicate’ for ship kill ranging from -3.0% down to -0.0225%… Course that was years ago and I usually do full clears, I rarely ever blitz missions… I do know some players would use alts to destroy the rats / structures that gave standing hits so their mains wouldn’t incur them…
Also remember that despite getting negative standing hits, completing the arc will still give a big Faction standing increase with no derived standings to any other Factions… Plus using the Glamourex Booster will definitely boost the Faction standing increase..
Anyway, these were my negative standing hits:
6x standing hits for -3.0%
14x standing hits for -0.025%
1x standing hit for -0.0225%

As an Intaki RPer, who’s positive towards the Syndicate, but anti-pirate so negative towards Angels & Serpentis, I recognise I’ve painted myself into a corner. But EVE is supposed to be difficult, so I accept my fate.
Despite the limited options before me, that was all very useful, so thanks for taking the time to provide the details.
It looks like I’ll be repeating the epic arc, and spending time grinding for the Syndi NPC corps for the storylines for some time.
You should be close to having positive standings with The Syndicate after you complete the Gallente Level 4 Epic Arc, especially with using the Glamourex Booster…
Your negative Faction standing of -1.82 (base -4.77) is currently being boosted by Diplomacy skill, when your base standing becomes positive, it will then be boosted by Connections skill..
I was -9 to one faction and not much better with the other two before I realized I f’ed up. I never tried it with the pirate factions and was looking that up when you beat me to the post. It took me apx a yr to get good standings with all 4 again. Had to use my 2 alts to start. I still have small fleets in the other empires from that. And as my skills grew, I also got good at flying other faction ships, learning the different weapons systems. You yourself underestimate the value of the plan.
If your playstyle is running missions, then The Plan is a good plan from the start. Sure saved my arse!
Yeah, definitely negates the whole premise of doing ‘Faction Warfare’… Guess the ole ‘Actions Have Consequences’ mantra is now being replaced with ‘Risk Free Rewards’…
I am not in need of THE PLAN for standings repair, but I do want to get more standings with Caldari State to bring down my fees when selling in Jita.
i want to do this on an alt, who currently has a lousy 0.84 standing with caldari state and 2.18 with caldari navy.
I am training social, and connections to V, i will be doing the Sisters of Eve Arc and may well do the caldari Epic Arc with another toon , but with the data center and cosmos missions, is it worth doing them at the beginning or later when i have higher standings, or is there anything ive missed?
When you have low standings, the amount of standing gain is much larger than if you already have high standings… The actual standing gain is basically a percentage increase of what you have left to get to +10… So if you’re at neutral standing, even a small 2% increase will make a big difference… That’s why it’s best to first do the low level agents since their standing percentage increase is small… It’s also the reason why I suggested doing the order of Agents listed in ‘The Plan’…
And now for Trading in Jita, any time the market is used there are taxes that need to be paid. There are three different taxes: sales tax, broker’s fee and relist fee.
A station trader with zero standings will pay between 5.1% (at max skills) and 11% of the order price as fees/taxes… This is important to take into account when calculating your profit, but of course the standings can change that further… With max skills and max standings a station trader will pay 4.6% of the order price as fees/taxes…
Sales Tax
The base sales tax is 7.5% and is reduced by 11% per level with the Accounting skill (3.37% at max skills)…
Broker’s Fee
Broker’s fee is paid every time a sell or buy order with duration other than “immediate” is created… The broker’s fee is a percentage value of the total value of the created market order… The broker’s fee is paid immediately when the order is created… If the order is taken down or expires the fee is not paid back… The minimum broker’s fee is 100 ISK…
In NPC stations the base broker’s fee is 3%… The broker’s fee can be reduced with the Broker Relations skill and NPC standings…
Corporation standings reduce .2% of that and Faction standings reduce .3%… Note that the unmodified standing is used for the calculation so skills that increase standings have no effect on broker’s fees… With no skills or standing the broker’s fee is 3%… With Broker Relations V, the broker’s fee is reduced to 1.5%… With +10 Faction and Corp (i.e. perfect) unmodified standing the fee is further reduced to 1%…
Relist Fee
When an order is modified you will need to again pay a broker’s fee… This broker’s fee is reduced by a relist discount with a base reduction of 50%. The relist discount can be increased by the Advanced Broker Relations skill…

Keep in mind the Social skills will help you to quickly gain high standings, however a Trader will have to go higher than say a Mission runner due to the Market using unmodified standings…
