Mine so far is Maelstrom buff and faction guidance systems. What’s yours? Be honest
Added clarity.
That CCP explicitly state in the description of HS space now that it is not totally safe and that suicide attacks exist there.
I hope this clears up some of the confusion I see that causes people to complain about the existence of gankers in HS.
The addition of Exordium was also a nice touch that makes the status of HS clearer.
Previously newbies in some systems were off limits for PvP as they were protected by rookie griefing rules, which weren’t known by everyone (or by the rookies themselves) and had to be enfored manually through reports and devs looking into such cases. Now that rookie protection is mechanically enforced within Exordium I hope it’s soon possible for CCP to remove the now redundant rookie griefing rule, which makes the status of PvP eligibility in HS significantly clearer: everyone would simply be eligible.
You are likely going to see as much confusion as before. For example “Why isnt high sec a no-pvp zone?” But whatevs ![]()
That’s what we have Exordium for, that is the ‘no PvP zone’ in EVE.
Why isnt high-sec a no pvp zone?
Why isn’t EVE a medieval fantasy game about knights and wizards?
Because the devs decided this is the game they wanted to design.
It seems like there is still going to be a lot of conusion and apparantly because thats the game the devs wanted to design.
But then its nice with people like you, when players are confused thats where you come in ![]()
So its not that bad
Always nice to see the Maelstrom get some love.
I mean its seems ok for an expansion i guess, not really anything in it for me to get excited about, but not every expansion is going to appeal to me
Faction standing gains from MCs seem really nice.
That will never happen due to the Level 1 SoE Epic Arc and the Epic Mining Arc… The current Rookie Griefing Rules will still apply in those systems…
There are entries on hoboleaks pertaining to what look like new AIR epic arcs. With the creation of new safe space and alternate newbie content, I could easily see them doing away with existing highsec “griefing” exceptions.
This Dev Blog - Cradle of War Expansion Launches 9 June | EVE Online mentions a new Epic Arc being added…
Step Into History
Experience the legendary battles that defined the big four empires in a new Epic Arc. Through hyper-real simulations, you can step into the historical conflicts that shaped New Eden.
Live through the story of each empire, discover what they stand for, and find your place in the war that’s still reshaping the cluster today.
It’s possible they might move the Level 1 Epic Mining Arc into the new protected region… After the new region is up and running strong they’ll probably modify the list of systems in the Rookie Griefing Rules and remove the old Starter / Career systems…
However I’ll bet you ISK they’ll still keep the Rookie Griefing Rules active for the Level 1 SoE Epic Arc systems, especially since that arc was specifically designed for new players to run..
The terms were coined by the playerbase according to what was perceived. CCP/FC only defined what the sec levels mean in terms of game mechanics. I guess we need to come up with and agree on new names…
Some suggestions were already made…like name the new one Noob-Sec and keep the known names.
But you may use anything else as well and rename it:
1.0 High-Sec
0.5-0.9 Medium-Sec
0.1-0.4 Low-Sec
0.0 No-Sec
or go by the numbers directly. Time will tell how it evolves.
If you mean the new freelance jobs, yeah so i did the 180k mining one on SISI, i gained an entire 0.1 off my -2.26 amarr standing, the juice was not worth the squeeze
There are faster jobs you can complete obviously, like running a level 4 mission for the faction, or attempting to do the soon to be permacamped data sites that give you a suspect flag for even taking the gate in to the site
I would argue they now need to add yulai to the list so that people aren’t just camping that gate to catch newbros who venture 1 jump out of the region
I cleared a HS anomaly for a PvE one and was getting .01 every reward tick (13 ticks).
Yeah the mining one was 0.01 every reward tick, of which there are 10 in the mining job, every 18k units mined
Military campaigns. Even though it’s just Freelance 2.0, you’ll be able to achieve rewards just by doing your regular activites.
Yeah, good point…
They’ll probably add that system to the list pretty quick after the new region goes online…
