[Feature Request] AI powered voice command system

Hey Capsuleers,

I’ve been thinking about how much tech has evolved recently—especially with AI and voice recognition—and I wanted to throw out an idea that could really elevate immersion in EVE.

What if we had voice command support built into the game?

I’m not talking about gimmicky features, but practical, in-combat and navigation-focused commands that would let you feel more like a ship commander. Imagine being able to say things like:

  • “Shields up”

  • “Lock nearest target”

  • “Fire when ready”

  • “Warp to the next star system”

  • “Align to station”

  • “Launch drones”

Instead of just clicking through menus, you’d be issuing orders—like an actual fleet commander or capsuleer interfacing with your ship’s AI.

With how far AI voice tech has come in recent years, this feels more viable than ever. It could:

  • Improve accessibility

  • Speed up reactions in combat

  • Add a whole new layer of immersion

  • Open up interesting integrations with existing overview and command systems

Obviously, there would need to be safeguards (confirmation prompts, customization, push-to-talk, etc.), but even as an optional feature, it could be a huge step forward.

Curious what others think—would you use something like this, or do you see it as unnecessary complexity?

Fly safe o7

NOTE: This post is written by gpt since i couldn’t articulate my idea well enough. Sorry if that annoyed you

I tend to fly in fleets, where voice comms are already in use for fleet co-ordination, so I don’t think this would be useful.

AI is trash and so is this post.

In what world is it faster to say “Activate Shield Booster” than it is for me to just hit F3?

AI has no place in EVE Online.

capsuleers control ships through neural network connections. They arent standing on a bridge issuing orders to number one.

inb4 people spam the GMs with tickets about how their voice command system did the wrong thing.

Chill out guys i don’t like AI either i just thought it’ll be nice

Stand up for yourself, man. Just because we don’t like your idea doesn’t mean you have to feel ashamed for having come up with it.

You could probably use a third party software to do this yourself. An aid tool for disabled people maybe, if one exists that lets you macro “activate shield boosters” to act as if you’ve pressed F3 or whatever. Since it’s a massively less effective way to play and you’re not broadcasting the key to multiple clients, it probably won’t be interpreted as a EULA violation.

Thank you Anna. Yes I’ve heard of them but i think an official one will be better for casual players such as myself.

maybe it won’t be good for precision controls needed at high intensity stuff but for me i think it’ll make the game more engaging.

You lost the moment you thought “I’ll use an AI to write a short paragraph for me”
